No calls yet?
They are probably piling them up.
Just ask @canuck73_3Garland is awesome and worth a ton.
We probably just don’t want to trade him, as nearly 5 mill for his non penalty killing ass is the deal of the century.
Id be blown away if teams aren’t lining up to pick up Garland and his twirls and impossible shots from the corner

He's a great setup man. His shot is not his strength. He also wins a ridiculous amount of board battles, especially given how small he is.
So calling him a guy that just twirls around and takes bad angle shots is akin to calling a Beauvillier someone that just skates fast and goes nowhere. We could also call Quinn someone that just twirls around and has a muffin of a shot, and we'd be ignoring the rest of his game.
He has some good to him obviously, but let’s not act like he doesn’t spent half his ice time twirling in the corner and taking low chance shots.

Doubling down on bad takes doesn’t make you look smarter.
Spending almost 5 mill for a dwarf to play on the 3rd line and not kill penalties.
THAT is stupid.
If you support that, I suggest keeping your smug insults to yourself.- 2

You guys are right.
Garland is awesome.
That’s why we couldn’t even give him away for free. Because he is just too awesome, other teams would feel bad stealing him from us.
If there is anything that is going to get us to the playoffs, it is Garland and his great shots from the corner near the boards.

Garland is 10 times more fun to watch then Taylor Hall or Boeser.
One is not like the others.
Sooooo what happened with all the big "sweeteners" that Boston was gonna have to include here?
Yeah.
Nothing more fun than watching Garland cycle with himself on the boards then take a poor angle shot…….
Or better yet lose the board battle and the puck while doing the whole self cycle thing.
Garland stinks.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I would rather watch Boeser slug around the ice, than to watch Garland and his predictable, energy wasting nonsense.- 3

Total gut feeling but they seem to be a team moving to the middle once Kopitar slows down. Wonder if Blake feels the same and why he is looking at some moves with more urgency...while Kop is still at the top of his game
I hope that feeling is right, because we are in for a real battle to get into the playoffs.
At least we know Calgary is going to suck- 1

Kopitar and Doughty are almost done and they seem to be dumping a lot of their young depth.
Oh and they don’t have a goaltender.
They have a couple very young studs on the dline
PLD is a young 1c
Still have Byfield.
Their future looks very bright.

Figured.
You don’t let a guy like that walk when you are close to a cup, let alone your captain.- 2

Yesterday I told my wife ‘I hope we get Dvorsky’
She yelled ‘ME TOO’ then she stormed out the door.
She hasn’t been back since.
I bet she is going to get me beer or something.
Good gal that one.- 1

Yeah I'm starting to soften up to this train of thought. If we could get two 2nds in a deep draft that would be amazing.
Imagine Simashev dropping because of concerns around his Russian status and shot, and we get him in the 2nd round. If we traded our 11 to Chicago for 19 and a 2nd, that would get us one of them.
Then use that 2nd, our two 3rds and whatever else it takes to get into the late mid 1st.
NHL19. Ps4. Hell yeah. Hahaha -
I wish there was a way to get two late/mid picks.
Trade our 11ov and our two 3rds to somehow pull off picking up both Danielson and Simashev.
I would build an Allvin statue in my backyard- 2

I’m sure some have heard this story, but during my teen years, I live near Calgary and everyone I knew loved the flames.
I’m a born and raised Canucks fan.
For 25 years now, I get phone calls at midnight every time the flames beat us, just shit talking me and the team so hard.
Long story short, I hate the Flames, the city of Calgary, and everyone in it, and that includes life long best friends. They are awful folks.
If being a flames fan was a race, I’d be running around in a cloak and a hood.
This implosion is so wonderful.
I can’t wait to make a bunch of midnight phone calls.- 2

Can we update the OP to have an ever growing list of players who want to leave Calgary?

So, is Danielson another case of big kid in a league of teens?
Yes he has dangles galore, but his head is down for most of them.
That’s a recipe for a short career in the NHL.
Is he going to be able to pull those moves against 6’3 220lbs, who doesn’t let you near the net?
I don’t know these answers, but his highlight videos are awesome.

Lol.
Just because he was god awful here, doesn’t mean he has to suck elsewhere. -
Yes!
More wingers!
All the wingers! What do you do when you have a surplus of wingers???
Get more!

There are the two obvious ones.
The difference was huge though.
With the Neely trade, we just lost out on an amazing player.
With the OEL trade, the only real asset we lost was the 9th overall.
However, it has caused an almost decade long cap problem and has handcuffed our team since day 1.
Losing Cam and seeing what he became was terrible, but the continued interference in this team from the trade will be felt for too long and will lessen our chances of success

Not from 2025-27 with almost 5 million in cap penalties
I didn’t say any of it was a good idea, I’m just saying that’s what they are obviously showing they are trying to do.

Just now, Dazzle said:People are fooling themselves if they think this team (management) learned anything from Benning's time. Benning made plenty of mistakes. Now this management has not learned anything about mistakes, but makes even more of them.
The throwing away of 1st and 2nd round picks was like Gillis, except we are NOT a competing playoff team. Gillis did it because he needed the team to keep going.
This is just crap management.
They are freaking awful

This is essentially like extending the Luongo cap penalty.
What about the last years moves make you think they are going to do anything close to a rebuild?
They traded away a 1 and 2 pick in an unreal draft.
They just screwed the future for cap space today.
There is no rebuild coming.
Only more mediocrity- 1

[Rumour] Canucks getting calls on Conor Garland
in Trades, Rumours, Signings

Honest question.
Do you think he is worth his contract and a fit on this team?
Do you believe he has value in a trade?
