Find a quote where I have said he’s worth a ton.. I’ll wait.

I do however think he is more valuable on the team than trading him. And 45-50 points is pretty solid production for a guy who just twirls around  Like I said keep your day job and don’t become a scout. (It’s not an insult it’s genuine life advice)

    Honest question.
Do you think he is worth his contract and a fit on this team?
Do you believe he has value in a trade?

    No calls yet?

They are probably piling them up.
    Just ask @canuck73_3

Garland is awesome and worth a ton.
We probably just don’t want to trade him, as nearly 5 mill for his non penalty killing ass is the deal of the century.

Id be blown away if teams aren’t lining up to pick up Garland and his twirls and impossible shots from the corner

He's a great setup man. His shot is not his strength. He also wins a ridiculous amount of board battles, especially given how small he is.

So calling him a guy that just twirls around and takes bad angle shots is akin to calling a Beauvillier someone that just skates fast and goes nowhere. We could also call Quinn someone that just twirls around and has a muffin of a shot, and we'd be ignoring the rest of his game.

He has some good to him obviously, but let’s not act like he doesn’t spent half his ice time twirling in the corner and taking low chance shots.

That's your opinion, and your opinion is wrong.

Ooof what a brutal take. Don’t become a scout.

    You guys are right.
    Garland is awesome.
That’s why we couldn’t even give him away for free.  Because he is just too awesome, other teams would feel bad stealing him from us.

If there is anything that is going to get us to the playoffs, it is Garland and his great shots from the corner near the boards.

Garland is 10 times more fun to watch then Taylor Hall or Boeser.

One is not like the others.

Sooooo what happened with all the big "sweeteners" that Boston was gonna have to include here?

    Yeah.
Nothing more fun than watching Garland cycle with himself on the boards then take a poor angle shot…….
Or better yet lose the board battle and the puck while doing the whole self cycle thing.

    Garland stinks.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I would rather watch Boeser slug around the ice, than to watch Garland and his predictable, energy wasting nonsense.

Total gut feeling but they seem to be a team moving to the middle once Kopitar slows down. Wonder if Blake feels the same and why he is looking at some moves with more urgency...while Kop is still at the top of his game

I hope that feeling is right, because we are in for a real battle to get into the playoffs.

At least we know Calgary is going to suck

Yeah I'm starting to soften up to this train of thought. If we could get two 2nds in a deep draft that would be amazing.
Imagine Simashev dropping because of concerns around his Russian status and shot, and we get him in the 2nd round.

If we traded our 11 to Chicago for 19 and a 2nd, that would get us one of them.
Then use that 2nd, our two 3rds and whatever else it takes to get into the late mid 1st.
    NHL19.  Ps4.    Hell yeah.   Hahaha

  8. So, is Danielson another case of big kid in a league of teens?
Yes he has dangles galore, but his head is down for most of them.
That’s a recipe for a short career in the NHL.
Is he going to be able to pull those moves against 6’3 220lbs, who doesn’t let you near the net?

I don’t know these answers, but his highlight videos are awesome.

  9. There are the two obvious ones.

    The difference was huge though.

With the Neely trade, we just lost out on an amazing player.

With the OEL trade, the only real asset we lost was the 9th overall.
However, it has caused an almost decade long cap problem and has handcuffed our team since day 1.

Losing Cam and seeing what he became was terrible, but the continued interference in this team from the trade will be felt for too long and will lessen our chances of success

I disagree with you heavily in the past, but I can't stop agreeing with you at all.

People are fooling themselves if they think this team (management) learned anything from Benning's time. Benning made plenty of mistakes. Now this management has not learned anything about mistakes, but makes even more of them.

The throwing away of 1st and 2nd round picks was like Gillis, except we are NOT a competing playoff team. Gillis did it because he needed the team to keep going.

    This is just crap management.

    They are freaking awful
