    If I'm Gillis, I'm worried about drastically changing my team's identity. Is type of play succeeding in the NHL, this year, going to be the type of play that succeeds next year? The NHL has a lot of influence on the matter. We will see.

      Good point. Will they switch up their rules midseason again? Tough to have a long-term plan for a team when they pull nonsense like this.

      Every year there is only 1 cup winner and everyone tries to replicate that team. When Detroit won, everyone wanted to model their puck possession. When Hawks won, we wanted more speed. When Bruins won, we wanted more grit. If we keep changing, we'll never have our OWN identity.
