1. I think they'll call him up, if only for the experience. I mean beyond Ebbett and Schroeder, we don't really have depth centres. If it were the case that Lapierre were to go down, do you really want Ebbett or Schroeder playing those grinder minutes in the playoffs?

I think there's a good chance we seen our friend Gaunce called up.

he's shown that next level in the playoffs so far. i don't see why he wouldn't be called up either.

2. 5 points off the pace set by Hodgson last year. Same age. Really been coming on though lately

compared to cody's first season playing up with the canucks, schroeder has been much more noticeable in all areas to me. i really hope jordan gets to stick around and he gets to tear it up for us next season.

3. OHL season is wrapping up today. Kitchener will face Guelph in the first round, Game 1 is Friday.

McEneny's final regular season stats:

65 GP, 6-28-34, 42 PIM, +7

Finished 28th overall in defenceman scoring.

good looking stats for a free OHLer. Well worth the gamble, if he played last year he would definitely have been drafted.
4. ok, let me rephase id like to see a young player we draft come into the league fairly soon after being drafted and make a significant impact, maybe bump a higher priced player or allow for us to trade players for future picks or prospects that are dead weight on this team or are redundant or over paid

I see, and agree too. Jensen is the only one i could see having a small shot at it but honestly for him to make a big impact, i think that will be a few years. that's sort of how it works when you draft late several years in a row

5. Whats happening with Rodin? I thought in his procetion he had a good shot and could find the back of the net, yet in the AHL it seems like hes a 2 way forward who doesnt find the net that often?

Sure hope he can pick that up things up, hes still only 22, but seems to be on par with schroeder in the ability to score in the AHL.

When would he ever be given a shot to play a few games in the NHL to see what he can do? He sounds like a good prospect that should pan out, guess it would just be nice to see some of our draft picks make the team. Even top contending teams seem to have youngsters that can crack the line up.

oh wait, maybe its cause we have a coach that doesnt give them the opportunity...

All the best to Rodin hope he can find his offensive game

we have youngsters on the team, just not this one. Cause he's not ready.

6. he played really solid. I think insulating him with burrows and raymond would be great for the second line and his developement. I'm looking for him to step out a little more and get some shots off, even as soon as tomorrow night. It's really cool to see him play right now, i've been waiting for his arrival for awhile.

7. Solid. Getting Jensen & Gaunce that late in the 1st round in back to back years is just looking golden right now.

we're very fortunate they dropped that low. And that we have a GM that is smart enough to make the picks.

8. i think they will waive one of the two defenseman on tuesday probably after the morning practice.

edit: it really isnt even ebbetts fault, the line is just poorly constructed they cant play a corners game with him and raymond they are just too soft and that line needs to create offense off the rush but ebbett really isnt creative enough to do that.

you basically just said its not ebbetts fault, but it is his fault. but i agree with the second part, there is no cycle and no rush chances. Schroeder and him have very similar defensive game but schroeder is a much better fit for that line offensively.
9. I don't see the top end offensive talent necessarily in him at this point. He is effective and gets the job done, but I don't see him producing to the level someone like Getzlaf has (around a point a game player). He'll still be quite good if he continues to progress, but I don't yet see him as someone to get 80-90 points in the NHL.

he literally got to point per game status for the season yesterday. never know what could happen.
10. belleville is looking like the real deal. they've been getting games like gaunce's tonight from multiple guys last few weeks. i'm seeing shades of linden in gaunce right now. (starting to sound like a homer, but its hard not to be optimistic about his consistant improvement and coming back from injury) Just a very complete performance tonight

11. Is he not on the top line?

i think hes on what you would consider to be the second line with graovac right now. quine and cramarossa have been getting more minutes the last few games. he is on first PK unit, however.

12. PP units were a focus today at camp. 1st unit had Hansen with the Sedins and Elder/Garrison on the point. 2nd unit had Higgins with Schroeder and Burrows, with Bieksa and Hamhuis on the point. Looks like Schroeder is getting his shot!

Was ebbett given anytime on the powerplay? If not i'm wondering if he will be given that opportunity tomorrow.

13. 1)Higgins - Schroeder - Hansen

-Two puck hounds who will really help Schroeder in the defensive zone and fore-checking.

or

2)Raymond - Schroeder - Hansen

-Speed on the wings, also both veterans are great defensively. But Raymond has in the past been more of a shooter than Higgins, which could make for a better fit with the play-making Schroeder.

is that a third line or second line?

14.

Hmm, I'm just not really a fan of Ebbett, I'd rather have Schroeders speed and better offensive skills

What if they tried something like

Sedin-Sedin-Kassian

Raymond-Schroeder-Burrows

Higgins-Lapierre-Hansen

Volpatti-Malholtra-Weise

its yet to be seen if kassian has the ability to be up there but i like the look of the lines as you have them. i hope kass gets that shot. Ebbett did have some clutch goals last season if you remember, and more assists than schroeder this season with the wolves. If Ebbett can move the puck and mayray can find some open ice i think that would be a serviceable 2nd line. either:

raymond-ebbett-kassian

or

raymond-ebbett-burrows

if they aren't scoring, put schroeder in to see if there is a spark. i want schroeder to play and all but ebbett has the experience p>

15. 2 assists and an even rating in tonights 4-3 shootout win over peterborough. cool to see him produce without murphy. I've been kinda concerned he has been playing in ryan's shadow and benefitting from his offensive skills. Looks like he can generate some offense on his own as well.
