  1. Decisions like this by Torts demoting Booth even though he's worked his a$$ off and to me looked like one of our best players is flat out a stupid move.

Also seems to me like Kassian has put in a lot of effort to turn the corner and is a very logical option with the Sedins because of his good speed, shot, skill and size and he gets no reward and no shot to better the team.

Very frustrating i don't agree at all.

Sedins need a centreman with them tonight. Hank not taking faceoffs

  2. I said that last year as well. He certainly has the skill set but his defensive game is too much of a question mark to try it.

The main problem with his defensive game is getting that puck out along the boards in the defensive end. It's such a crucial job for wingers. And it's where he seems to REALLY struggle sometimes. In fact it gets so bad that sometimes you will notice the defensemen taking a chance on a different play then the simple pass up the boards to him (usually leading to a turnover). But if Kass gets a chance at center that is no longer his defensive task.

Perhaps it could be an interesting project. I never really considered it before... I feel like his speed and conditioning could be a factor though. He would have to be doing a lot more skating as a center. But I'm sure some CDC members would be able to have a nice list of slow centers who make it work. Interesting thought to think about at the very least

  3. With ESPN (Burnside) being a fly on the wall for the Team USA meetings. I was interested to take a look at what Burnside and Lebrun had to say about Team Canada. They broke it down the same way the Burnside article talked about the US team (Locks, Looking Good, On the Bubble, and Outside Looking In). Here's Team Canada's power rankings according to Lebrun and Burnside:

  4. The nice thing about a trade with NYR is that Torts knows those players REALLY well. He seems to really understand player's strengths and weaknesses and how to use them. It takes some of the risk out of the trade. You have to believe that Gillis would be very interested in Torts opinion on ranger players. Perhaps there's someone on that roster that is a little more under-rated that Torts would want to put in a good word for.

  5. I know Hansen and Higgins deserves playing with Henrik by their hard work, consistency, heart, etc. But one of the reason we're having trouble scoring is those two hands of stone are playing significant minutes with good players and can't convert on their chances.

They are 3rd liners and it's where they belongs. They should still gets 16 min of playing time but we'll never win anything with them playing close to 20 min.

For what it's worth, here's my lines

    Burrows-Hank-Kassian(18-19min)

    Dany-Santo-Kesler(18-19min)

    Higgins-Richardson-Hansen (16min)

    Fourth line (<8min)

To be honest, I really like those lines. I would be all for giving those a shot. Hopefully we get to see it at some point
