Same thing was said of Duclair.  There are certainly some that can never fully process the game at NHL speed, but would seem it's just a false narrative in some cases.

He must have had some sort of mystical experience amidst all the partying and tapped into deeper understanding. It can happen.

  2. ahh... now i see it: jim benning's cup vision.

    Madden - Pettersson - Boeser

    Pearson - Horvat - Podkolzin

    Hoglander - Miller - Virtanen

    Ferland - Gaudette - Roussel

  4. Do you think we'll transition him into a winger? He's projecting to be a top-9 player at worst and might be more valuable to us filling out the shoulders given that we have excellence in our 1/2 with Petey and Bo and that we've developed Gaudette as a centre himself. (Miller of course can also play C.)

It feels like his talents might be wasted if he's forced into the centre role when he has a realistic chance of having weird chemistry with some of our stars--a la Burrows with the twins. (Like, it wouldn't surprise me to see a coach down the years decide that Miller-Petey-Madden; Pearson-Horvat-Podkolzin; Ferland-Gaudette-Boeser or something similar is the best way to spread the forward depth and align chemistry, even if Madden isn't a superstar or doesn't turn out to be a 1st-liner of himself.)

I know it's easier to turn a C into a W than vice versa, but I'm sure this is something the team is going to look into when he makes the turn pro--having him practice on the wing now and again, test him there in game situations. It's not necessarily in the team's interests to move him away from playing centre right away as regards his development, but I'm curious what other people think Van should/will do here.

And I'm not sure all of CDC realizes how very good Madden is even yet. He's better than Gaudette imo and, while it's a dice roll whether he hits this potential, he could be a genuine 1st line talent if the d20 lands 17-20.

  5. We had one of these a number of years ago to some success and should maintain another one now that the team is good-ish again (...and only getting better B) ).

I am tired of being memed and ridiculed upon sharing legitimate thoughts and analysis and would enjoy a more laid-back and constructive approach to Canucks discussion on the forum, which could only possibly be afforded by the wonderful group of humans who now frequent these areas of expression.

The road to happiness is definitely in White Noise somewhere. After years of dedicated thought and study, that much I am certain of. I am hopeful that this thread will in some way contribute to our finding it... the missing hyperlink (to happiness). I think it was in a count to a million thread or something, but those were outlawed strategically by high command to force us into sorrier states, to crush our noble efforts to escape this silly labyrinth, and what used to be there I fear is no longer extant anywhere on the interwebs. I think this might be a good way of finding it--or a new one--is all 'm expressing.

Adam Fox is a wonderful talent; we were lucky to watch him tonight.

I guess I don't know hockey considering all the confused reactions? He should be a 1st-pairing defenceman for a very long time and possibly consistent top-15 d-man throughout his prime. It's nice to watch him play in his rookie year even if he's not QH. He's on 40-point pace as a 21-year-old and quarterbacking their late-game empty net rush as the sole man at the point. A team that just outplayed us heavily trusts him with that. It's cool imo. Could someone tell me why I'm dumb?

LOL, A SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT. Where in the world did this SNOWFLAKE come from?

You know we are talking about hockey right. If you want safe, go cheer for the national Bubble Wrap Team!!

    safer, then?

we're both talking about hockey, yes, just in different centuries.

A poster actually typed "safe work environment" with respect to playing NHL hockey???

Hahaha, that is so godda&% millennial it is unbelievable.  And if the person who typed that is not a millennial, then they are just clueless!  :picard:

Hogs & Podz.....your post was awesome by the way haha.  I would give you 100 upvotes if I could.

okay so if a safe work environment isn't important, why do goalies wear masks? just because every one since jacques plante has been a marvel superhero with a double-secret identity of playing ice hockey? they go into the dressing room, sneak out the back dressed up like bums, and have their PR guy come out to handle the media and pretend he was in net while looking nothing like them? for what purpose? like what do the superheroes get from it? or are they villains?

I love that Hoglander is willing to get physical, but the way he drove his elbow up on that his is not good at all. I'd say that hit is suspendable, even by NHL standards. So long as he learns from this to steer away from the head, he'll be fine.

Yeah. I don't mean to say by all of my posts that he's obviously a Marchand-type or that his reputation is never going to recover. He has a chance still, but whether we like it or not, he's at a point where he has to learn pretty quickly imo.

It wasn't an elbow if you watch all the angles; but that doesn't matter because all hits to the head are illegal under iihf rules iirc.
