The Canucks outworked and outplayed the Jets. That's why they won
I was at the game near ice level. What I saw was a Canuck team that hustled the whole game. Yes, they outworked and outplayed the Jets. The Jets played the night before but did not play like a tired team the whole game. Full value for the win. I don't get these guys who can't give credit when credit is due. Even when the Nucks win, they don't win.

Very excited about going to my first game this season! Just hoping there will be NO PENALTIES AT ALL FOR EITHER TEAM.
I'm calling a 4-1 win... all goals 5 on 5. Demko stands on his head again. Lotto line hits the jackpot.

Canucks are so frustrating to watch they even used their Jets gameplan
Ohhh...geeez.. I'm going to that one!

I joked about how many seconds they would hold the lead and it turned out to be 49 seconds
Well geez, that explains it. That's nothing to joke about!
But seriously ... the not so 'special teams'. I have lost all sense of anticipation when we get a pp. And I just expect another goal against on our pk.

This team is so damn frustrating to watch! They just couldn't handle being in the lead 2-1. They promptly take 3 penalties in the next coupla minutes and of course couldn't kill 2 of them to give the lead back to the Jets. It's like a broken record ... we lose another close one with the difference being our powerless play and the penalty kill-ing us! How can our 'special' teams suck so bad this season?!

The lousier the team gets the more the 50/50 grows. Crazy right?
$203K right now.
Now that's a lotto line that's working!

There's not a lot of good choices for GM that I can see.
I'm also sick of CDC always looking to the past for answers.

That 2 PK goals a game will make sure this team is dead last. On the bright side, if this continues maybe we can draft 1st for 1st time in history.
There's no guarantee that we'd draft first by coming dead last. Not the way the draft lottery works. And with our Canuck luck we'd never win the lottery.

No pp goals, 2 pp goals against ... difference in game again .... game over .... wash, rinse, repeat.
And remember when the Lotto line was a thing? What the hell has happened to my team?!

No pp goals scored. One or two pp goals allowed. This has been a consistent pattern so far this season. Critical in a close game that results in a loss. Special teams is the first thing that needs to be fixed.

Wow, that was the most depressing Nucks game I have seen in a long time. The only positive I can think of is that Nathan Mac didn't play.
Once again special teams stunk, with 2 more goals surrendered on the PK. The PP was 0 for 3 and even outscored with a SHG given up. That's on the coaches. And this 7-1 debacle comes after a 2-4-1 home stand. You gotta think there's a shake-up coming up in the coaching staff. Make the changes while it's still early in the season. Something's gotta give. The players do not look like they are buying in to the system. This team has too much talent to be sitting near the bottom of the division.

Yip.Team won in spite of Green.
Sheesh, it's not easy being Green. Even when he wins, he loses.

Despite the loss I don't think the Nux played badly. The number of shots and faceoff wins were pretty much even. Both goalies were hot. Both teams had chances that could've been put away. The score coulda gone either way. McJesus played like the devil but he was kept to one assist. The difference was the powerplay. I see Edmonton's and Phillies' powerplays are so creative and in constant motion compared to ours. Ours has been stagnant and predictable for the last few seasons. I can't for the life of me understand why we can't have different looks on it with the individual talent we have. The (lack of) powerplay is killing us right now.

That's a good team over there. But suck it, we won when we shouldn't have! God, I loved the sight of Seattle crackin'.

I say we take this one. The Nucks will be amped to set the tone on our new Pac Coast rivals and spoil their opener. We have played at times like we're still in preseason mode cuz of all the new faces and line combos, also due to lack of practice time. But I think we'll see our guys gelling today and playing a lot sharper.
We win 5-2. Let's get kraken!

Absolutely nothing wrong.... but spare the details pls.... we would like to keep this thread Canucks-only content!
Hey, just quoting my favourite episode of Seinfeld. You're obviously not a fan. And CDC often veers off on non Canucks content... about favourite foods, drinks, tv shows, songs...whatever. We don't have to be serious all of the time.

After he stood up for Hogs tonight against a bigger guy... I say give him #14 instead of 44!
