Playing alongside Kesler, Grabner has been getting dozens of scoring chances, but the red light isn't lighting for him. Although his finishing skills are lacking, I'm really excited about the number 40. Still a young prospect and tons of time to learn and sharpen his play, finishing will catchup to his speed and raw talent. Since he's started playing early this year, every game, he's been standing out for me. He uses his speed to his advantage, as he should.
Michael reminds me of what happened with his line-mate. When Kesler first suited up for the orcas, his speed was too much for his puck handling and was struggling. But after time, and more games behind his belt, it all started to balance out to the player we know today, a player who just signed a huge $30 million dollar contract over 6 seasons.
More ice-time and more experience will bring Grabner's finishing touches closer to his speed, when that happens, who knows what kind of player he will be. His speed alone, at this moment, is dangerous; hence all those scoring chances he's getting. Imagine when he can pop all those in.
