Andrew Copp with his 4 goals last night made some woman in Wpg. $100,000 richer

in the Save-On-Foods Million Dollar Score and Win contest!

    So there's that!

That's amazing. I went to bed but wish we just let him score his 5th goal... Make Jimmy Pattison cough up that extra 900k!

    Too bad for sure.

As for the game the trolls can mope and whine all they want, I wouldn't trade rosters with a single team in this league. Get a grip trolls.

Too many kids used to playing NHL on Xbox, smh... Now they've grown up and they prob still playing Xbox and pretending they better gm and coach than the guys who took us 1 period away from the west final

  2. Sucks losing but meh, boys playing good tbh. Can't be upset with a solid effort...

Love our future and there's absolutely no other team I'd want to support... We've got such a plethora of young talent unlike anything this franchise has seen 50+ years... Bless up!

Anyways past my bed time. Hope the boys can mustard a come back. Would like some playoff hockey but I'm ok either way... 35 million Canadians from coast to coast were drooling over our glorious Canucks in that epic playoff run last year.

    They still drooling prob!

Good night Canucks nation. Stay positive. If you're upset go for a walk.

Olli Juolevi, Micheal Ferland, and more recently, Elias Pettersson, would all disagree.

    Hope this helps.

I appreciate and admire Bo Horvat for wanting to play through his injuries, but somebody on the medical team/coaching staff/management team should be shutting him down, or at the very least, do what Nashville did with their captain and give him a few weeks off to recover.

As much as some may hate to admit it, the chances of making playoffs have been over for quite some time now.  No point in letting Horvat play through pain and risk the chance of further aggravating his injury when nothing but pride and a slim mathematical chance are at stake.

Bro, the world is ending. I'm with u! Everyone run!  I repeat... THE WORLD IS ENDING!

... Soft shot from edler on heavily padded pro stock skates... Player himself feels fine and skated... BUT WAIT... We've got developments from coach that Bo Horvat might never walk again.

This franchise is over! Shut down the team! THE SKY IS FALLING!

Confirmed The captain will never walk again! It's time we become Phlegmz fans.

Jokes aside, do u pound alarm bells in your own life non stop as well? Or just doing it to troll Canucks nation only?

What do u do if your wife over toasts your bread?

"toast burnt this morning... I NEED A Divorce!"

Anyways nothing against u coach but I hope you can ditch the sky is falling mentality

Edit: again no disrespect, you're name after one of the most iconic coaches in hockey, but come on...

    Totally different circumstances

Miller never tested positive, Benn did, but JT was staying with Benn, so was quarantined as a precaution until subsequent negative tests.   Neither were in prolonged contact with other team members, so no-one else on the team was compromised.  So business as usual (link to news report below)

2 Montreal players tested positive, and both were in close contact with the entire team, practices, playing, dressing rooms etc etc. So all team members need 2 consecutive negatives 48 hours apart before all clear.  Hence postponement

    https://theprovince.com/sports/hockey/nhl/vancouver-canucks/miller-benn-forced-to-miss-canucks-opening-week-due-to-covid-19-tests

You've got a point but I don't think it's really all that different given its 2021 and we have the technology for rapid tests...

We have instant testing that was invented by a great Canadian company... yet the nhl is choosing the slower method.

Send armia and jesperi to quarantine. Test everyone else. If they got enough guys testing negative then play them. Use your extra players.

All I can say is bergevin is smart for lobbying for this. His team is 80% less banged up than the Canucks but he still wants to delay until they %100.

He saw an opportunity and took it.

on any given shft there are probably 5-10 infractions.  You want every one of them called?

You're such a troll. Both your replies brutal to my post...

You make drones that set a standard. Period. The players will adjust. If it's soft it won't get called.

    Consistency. So games aren't fixed.

This is a pipe dream tho, too many billions involved for them to let go of fixing results.

  6. Can anyone explain to me why on earth Montreal games are being postponed?

Two nothing players in armia and kotkaniemi have covid? So what?

Who cares... They are no body compared to JT Miller... Who missed plenty of games yet we got 0 postponed...

Just makes no sense... JT Miller outscored every clown on that Montreal team... He's a far superior player, yet none of our games got postponed and we had to fight with a depleted roster?

Yet armia and kotka absence causes cancelation? Brutal league.

Good for Bergevin and Molson family for lobbying bettman to let their team rest up and heal from all injuries. Brutal.

If I'm Benning I say we all have covid too and let guys recoup from injuries. Brutal.

Anyways let's get that W tonight!

  7. Just heard some Bertuzzi to Tarrana rumours and I'm livid. This would be a crime against humanity IMO. I'm all for Canadian teams having success... all my top 7 favourite teams are the glorious Canadian ones... this is truly the greatest nation on the planet IMO and my allegiance will always lie here :gocan:

BUT.... with all that being said, the only place a Bertuzzi should be traded to is Vancouver (NOT tarrana). What do you guys think it would take to acquire him?

I wonder what Dubas and Laughs are offering but here's my offer

Rous/Beags + 2nd + something... Would love it if Jim the King just jumped on a call with Stevie Y and asked him what his "+ something" would have to be.

Just get it done IMO. Sign Tyler long term 7 years 4.5AAV if he'll agree to such a low #

is pods getting any closer to coming over?

funny how every thing that benji does, brings out the worst in fans. i think these moves are low risk and can be walked away from if they are not what we need. we are definately going to lose players after this season by trade or let walk. there is a good chance that lind and pods will play next season. good luck canucks.

Im thinking and hoping its precursor to someone being shipped out to open cap? maybe one of Rous or Beagle? Jim would look like a genuis if he pulls that off and uses Boyd at 700k cap hit instead...

Then maybe people will stop calling the whambulance over his cap management :P

lololol. I wonder who Toronto will send over next.

I'd be ok with Matthews 50% retained for Eriksson next :P

As for this pickup.... Don't know much about Boyd until now...

His stats actually look solid and given that 700k cap... fellow Minnesota boy for Brocky to make him feel more at home so he'll never leave ;)

Oh another Travis on the team... Trifecta!

Loved the Vesey acquisition and this one looks like it could work out too!

Disclaimer: Really don't think I ever saw this guy play, but more often than not, Jim the KING is right. I will trust Jims judgement and believe in this pickup. His hands have been tied with covid but 2 Tarrrrrana pickups are just what the doctor ordered. No quarantine, ready to get vengeance against their old team that gave up on them... and seriously love the fact that he's from Minny. Prob my fav American state.

Pettersson does skate like Gretzky though stylistically. If you watch Petey when he's going full blast, he looks hunch backed reminicient of the great one

Yup he really does have the same form.

I don't think it's fair to Petey or anyone from this Era to be compared to Wayne. None of these guys have the pleasure of shooting on goalies who really don't have much of a chance with terrible gear

Wayne was way ahead of his time but I doubt he gets remotely close to his old stats in current league. Does he get 1000 less Assists because the guys he passes to can no longer score on terribly weak shots?

When u wrist the Puck with the with no power and you score 500 goals like that cuz the goalie barely covers 10% of the net with their brutal gear

Long story short I think Wayne is the most overrated athlete of all time probably

As much as I love you and your unwavering love and optimism for the team (we could all take a page from your book), we can't just reduce the mistakes Jim has made as just 500k here and there.  The cap mismanagement has costed this team the chance to re-sign quality players, which has led them to take a step back when they didn't need to.  As it stands right now, we will be greatly impacted come this off-season as well due to these contracts.  We are in a lot more trouble than people think.  Most fans have accepted that and hope for the best.  Many that support Benning (not necessarily you) also realize this but instead of admitting that Benning is responsible, they come up with a plethora of excuses to exonerate him.  Their love for Benning is so strong, they'd rather the Canucks fail than admit that Benning should go.  It's disappointing to see but at the same time, it's pure comedy.

In any event, I'm glad you're still fully optimistic regarding the team.  Hope you're well and hope to see you back soon in the league :)

You have no clue how much withdrawals I've had from sims lol... I've been checking the website every now and then.... constantly drooling over DC's Canucks... grew up with pretty much all those players... Couldn't have chosen a better year. Brutal that he hasn't waived Messier yet tho

Really miss u guys... I spent more time with u guys than my own friends during covid hahaha... such a fun league and everyone was awesome but you! (JK :P)... hopefully can jump back in when the NHL regular season ends and my yahoo leagues end. Right now don't have the right time to commit to a team and be active as possible

Anyways back to Jimbo - I agree it's more than just 500k... there's been some overpayments but the team was desparate for able bodies...

I give him a free pass on Loui as was expected and that was the going rate for UFA's back then. Lots of nukes from that draft. Other than that it's just a million or two on sutter rous beagle that are really over payments...

As for the bolded... Tanev and Marky were warriors and I'm sad to see them go, but I think it's clear the right decision was made. Demmer has bloomed, Holtby is a solid 1b former vezina winner and will only have 1 year left... Hamonic 1 mill over Tanev... lets be real that's stellar. Travis has really heated up. He's playing his heart out since he knows he's on contract year.

So Toffoli leaving is probably the only sore spot? It definitely hurts, especially when he pops a hatty against us... but that's sports for you. This happens when players feel betrayed , they play with more fire, more intensity... Yes losing him was a mistake.

But these mistakes aren't much... none of them are losing franchise players... they are all complementary guys that we've let walk that you can argue the replacements, are better. I'm personally ok that they put in Hoge over Toff. Stats aren't perfect now, but the future is brighter this way.

Gotta trust Jim's process coach. Just have some faith in him, he's picked out some real diamonds for us. Not just drafting either... JT Miller trade...
