Saves like these are why Andrei Vasilevskiy is known as one of the best goaltenders in the NHL.

I agree. He wants to be here. Show some class. Give the guy a 2 year deal at a fair price. He's worth it.
Like you said, unless it's an offer you can't refuse, forget about it.

Doing something classy like not moving a guy when his wife is about to give birth could pay dividends greater than a pick. We need to rehab our reputation amongst players as a lot of guys left with a bad taste in their mouths about the team after the last few years and hockey is a small community.
The return would have to be something you can’t really turn down to make the move right now to me.
The more picks the merrier...
However if we do re-sign him, which I'm not against.. what do we think the contract looks like?
2x4M? 3x5M?
What is Schenn going to take?

Other posters have suggested Lou Lam has a choice to give us the pick this year even if it’s in the top 12. So if it’s 10 we might still get it.
It's possible!
I think he'd rather try betting on himself for next year though, and hopefully it bites him in the ass. Celebrini welcome to Vancouver!
Imagine Bedard and Celebrini... Two Vancouver boys.

At the end of the day whatever happens to JT Miller will be whatever Pettersson puts in managements ear. This is Pettersson's team, and if he can't handle JT - he'll be gone.
However, with Petey being the unsuspecting quiet one... JT will still be here after the TDL.
I personally don't have a problem with it. I think JT's got alot more to show. I question where that high end offensive drive went from last season. It was there night in night out and it seems like "poof" it's disappeared. A little boggling & concerning.
But again if Petey thinks he helps the team, he stays.

Pizza is a good player.
I honestly thought he should have been in since game 1. He has wheels and works his buzzum off. I liked him in preseason and I liked him last year.

That one heck of a trade.
Though I am now concerned that the Blues have joined the tank battle.
Our tank is looking good now but Chicago is slated to get alot worse (Kane, teows, McCabe, possibly Murphy gone..). Columbus will trade gavrikov.
I hope we keep selling for the tank!

O'Reilly's peak is behind him but I think he'll shine again in Toronto.
Not long ago he captained a team to a Stanley Cup Championship.
Price is high but it's due or die for Dubas.

I love how the cameras catch the coaches like this in the Swiss league. Now this is entertainment.
Imagine if this aired on HNIC. There would be multiple people fired. Gotta love it.

I could see Silovs pulling out a W tonight.
Reality is though, none of the NHL teams have a solid scouting report on him. If he were up with the big club for the rest of the season teams will get a scouting report. Similar to Martin last year.. no one had a scouting report. Now he is getting exposed for his weakness (over commitment on cross ice passes and challenging the shooter too much).
Silovs may show well and management might consider him as the backup next season.. but he needs to marinate longer in the A for one more year atleast.

4 goals in 30 games is good for just around 11 goals in a year which is pretty much what you need from a 4th liner. It'd be nice if he was better at killing penalties, maybe Tocchet will drill that in to him.
Our 4th liners of Lazar, Joshua and Studnicka at times haven't been bad, they've been pretty much what you expect from 4th liners 5-on-5, but like Rick said I think we need them to be better penalty killers. That should be their main job.
Shame we had 3 of the best penalty killers in the league on our 4th line many times (going back to Lapierre/Higgins), and even more recently (Motte, Lammikko, Highmore) and we've pissed them all away.
I'd take any of Lammikko, Highmore, Motte over Lazar and Studnicka to be honest.
Studnicka still has potential to grow but I'm not sold on Lazar.

If one of Boeser or Garland is getting traded this is a good opportunity for Tocchet to adjust Kuzmenko's game.
Proceed with caution though. Too much tweaking and Kuz could very well lose his confidence and find himself in a bottom six role on an expensive contract.

"I think this team needs another level of fitness" - Rick Tocchet
Avs, Tampa both hit the gym heavy. This team needs to commit to the gym if we want to hit that next level.
