  1. Perhaps you're right, maybe we are headed towards having a lot more tough coaches in Canada. Which in my opinion is a really good thing. lol Now Calgary just needs to jump on board with their rebuild, maybe they should hire Boucher? Bet he could work wonders with their offence. EDIT: On second thought, let's see what Hartley can do.. Then make decisions based on "expectations" later.
  2. Hell yeah.. You should see the Canucks fans on NHL.com going nuts, they seem completely against this hiring. See, what they need to learn is to be supportive of the decisions that are being made. (Which is one) of many other reasons we're on a decline, but I agree though- Torts is a polar opposite of what AV brought to the table! It may take a little growth, but I think he could be the one to light a fire up under our "donkeys." We have everything to gain, so I'll be putting all my money down on Blue & Green... Because what else is there really, short of giving up? lol Am I right??
  3. Reportedly a done deal, man. lol And hey, everyone already hates us... Let's at least have someone who will stand up for us! The man is not afraid to speak his mind, he was my second choice behind Dallas Eakins. (Who is no longer available, obviously) It's crazy how badly I want us to prove people wrong and see change here in Vancouver, it's gonna feel good to stuff it right in their faces.. Torts is the man for the job now, so I'm standing behind him 100%. The Sedin's are tougher than every other teams fan base will give them credit for, they will handle it as professionals and may even thrive under Tortorella's new system! Either way, I can't wait.
  4. While I completely agree with your second point, I completely disagree with your first.. lol The media around here are scum, they deliberately ask questions they know are gonna make the coaches and management uneasy. They try to cloud the judgement of the fans and all together are a lot of the reason we're even in this situation in the first place. The way they handled and blew up the goaltending situation in Vancouver is pretty much the main reason we're having problems! Sure it's up to MG to solve our problems, but like he says all the time; it's easier said than done and things take time. I wanna see Torts go right into them, take no crap from anyone and let our players just focus on playing hockey!
  5. Eakins, Ruff, Tippett are all now spoken for.. Only Boucher and Torts are left. Hell, we already use a nick name for him-- we might as well just go with Torts. lol He can bring some toughness to our players and handles the media like a champ. Canada is way too pansy and censored anyways, I'd love to see him in front of the camera down here.. He'd have to tone it down a little sure, but I think he can more than handle it. He knows it's okay in America, but here in Canada everyone is a little on the "softer side." (Minus the rioting) Haha But if worst comes to worst though, I say we just go with Boucher. He's quite a lot more mellow than Torts, but maybe it'll work out better than everybody thinks. Cheers to finding out soon though, eh? I'm sick of waiting.
  6. John Tortorella or Dallas Eakins get my votes, for some reason I have a good feeling about either one of them. Tippett if he becomes available, Ruff or even Guy Boucher wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen to Vancover... But I'm sticking with these two as my guys for the next coach of the Canucks, somebody quote me. EDIT: You know on second thought, what if Torts is too hard on the twins and they decide they don't want to play here next season? That would suck! Their contracts do expire after next season, only way around this is if MG signs them to extensions before the season starts and Torts starts going in on them. lol Then they're stuck... Still perhaps Eakins would be a better fit, he has a way of bringing out the best in young players and isn't that exactly what MG is looking for? Bet Kassian has a career year next season if we hire Eakins as head coach.
  7. All I gotta say is he has the highest plus-minus on our team out of all six of our defensemen. Oh yeah, and... :picard:
  8. There's no way you can go minus-31 and not be sloppy defensively buddy. I asked a simple question on how he has been playing as of late, which obviously means that I don't know anything about him as a player aside from the stats. lol Read between the lines and not just bits and pieces..
  9. Was he really minus-31 just two seasons ago? Damn, does anybody know how he has been playing as of late?? Last season it looks like he definitely did step it up though, hopefully we don't see none of that sloppy defensive play when he gets moved up to the AHL. Especially if he's projected to start out as our grinding 3rd line center.
  10. How can you say no to Gretzky, I mean honestly... I knew we were out of it as soon as it was reported that the Oilers had gotten them to speak to him on their behalf. lol
