We watch because of moments like game 2 against at louis when we still pulled out the win despite completely one sided reffing.
They influence games but dont determine the game. The problem is, sometimes they influence it too much for the boys to overcome.
What about 3 straight power plays to start game 4 that we didn’t capitalize on, is that the refs influence?

The definitions for crosscheck are pretty clear.
Game 4 against blues we get 3 straight power plays to Start the game, was not the refs fault we didn’t capitalize, like I said, Terribly inconsistent Not out to get us
-
Reffing isn’t fixed or rigged it’s simply inconsistent with no clear definition of what is a penalty and what is not, along with that definition being even more fluid depending on context and position of the game at hand

While I did really want to face off against Dallas, got to remember that for whatever reason they slammed us in the season series and had a lower GA than St Louis remarkably. I think despite their lack of a star defenceman, they play a very solid team defence (like Minnesota but much better) which will be hard to crack and will frustrate the Flames. On the other-hand, without Seguin they've showed that they really can't score goals in the round-robin.
Meanwhile, the Blues limp into the series win-less and Binnington got shelled. They were one of the best home teams so without home-ice advantage things might be a bit different. Obviously they're the Champs and can turn it on at any point but holefully the Canucks can catch them before they get a chance and get a few wins in and break their spirits. We won the season series and I think we've won the last 3 playoff series against the Blues. Of course they were completely different teams but for whatever reason, we matchup well against them. Let's hope that continues. They took loads of penalties in the round-robin so hopefully our PP gets some good looks as well. Their powerplay is solid as well (I think top 5) so I think the PP and goaltending will decide this series. Let's just hope Marky + Hughes > Peitrangelo + Binnington.
To be honest, we were never going to beat the Avs or Vegas and go through to the Finals so we might as well play the best in St. Louis and win or lose, will be great experience for the kids. However, if there's ever a chance for the 7th seed to beat the 1st seed it's now.
Heiskenen and Klingberg are pretty elite

I'm not even the biggest OJ fan but the dudes numbers speak for themselves.. everybody looks at his D+1 numbers as disappointing but I see them as impressive simply by comparing the numbers of the teams top 3 scorers in both years.

Thanks captain obvious. Probably should step up his work out game and go everyday twice a day. No need for recovery days to build muscle or strength after 2 years of major injuries right?
Didn't see your above posts at first,
Yeah working out 4-5 times a week along with ice time and dry-land training is a lot of physical activity, you can get a lot of mass only from working out 4-5 times a week let alone factoring in specialized training and dieticians

I have been thinking for awhile that Juolevi is the one guy in our org who benefitted the most from the time off.
Juolevi was on pace for a very respectable second year in the AHL. The guy can produce no question, he's produced at over a .5 ppg in 3 separate leagues. with even better numbers in the playoffs of 3 separate leagues.. not to mention the fact he is listed at 6'3 198 at the old age of 22 years old and now fully healthy for the first time in quite awhile.
Anyone who thinks Juolevi isn't a top level prospect teams would kill to have is going to get a big wake-up call at camp

Here is the conundrum for the Canucks I can't see a future where the Canucks have Toffolli, Boeser, Virtanen, and Podkolzin at the same time for long.
If Pod shows he can contribute in the NHL right away I look to trade Boeser for a similar age dman who isnt as good yet but has more potential, think johansen for jones esque

Hate to say it..but for FIVE decades(!) that's not exactly a glittering RhD side. Heck, we'd never had a D like Quinn, for eternity. So both sides are pretty modest.
But yeah..good compilation.
The hardest position in hockey to find a an elite player

Motte was excellent in his first game back. He's really grown on me the past few years.
Benning most underrated move, Vanek for Tyler “ couldn’t even get a pick “ Motte

Is it just me or is anyone else pretty concerned about how we consistently get out shot by wide margins? We need to stop playing the protective box in our own end.
30 low risk shots > 15 high danger shots

Unreal wind here in Kamloops.
I hope the shingle I see laying in my back yard isn’t off my roof, again.
I might impersonate that guy who walks across a windy airplane wing as I go check out my roof for damage. It’s still blowing gusts of 70 or so, better, but still sucky.
Anyone else get hammered by wind here in the interior?
For the game, I hope the call-ups run with the ball and give JB options for the TDL.
I predict a win.
Gusts of 70 that’s cute try living on the north coast, had 80-115km winds all week

Looks like Hog was playing on the third line yesterday. Anyone have any insight into this?
Also interesting to note that Hoglander played on a line with former Canucks 6th round pick Taylor Matson.
That historically bad 2007 draft is the only draft in our 50 year history to not produce a single game played by any of our picks

Odds and history say we will probably lose this one but there are reasons why games are played, and I am a believer that trends has to be broken at some point. Let’s get regulation W in Winnipeg this time! There are 3 teams that I would love to get a win to just break the trends: New Jersey (not happening this season unfortunately), Winnipeg and Montreal. Let’s start to break these trends tomorrow night with a W!
With players like EP and Hughes every game is worth tuning in, these guys are capable of scoring goals to tie it up with seconds remaining, absolutely electrifying to have such talent on our team

Brocks shooting confidence is low lately, the guy almost had his career ended so I didn’t expect him to be 100 percent the same player but I was expecting him to be a perennial 30-35g guy before his Injury

I'm sure Green has had all of these Virtanen thoughts above, and thus controls his minutes knowing he's still developing and has said over and over he is moving in the right direction this year.
He was pretty frustrated with him last year calling him out, and as well this training camp.
Since then, and especially last 10 games it feels like the switch was turned on, and he's understanding his game better. His passing is the biggest improvement i've seen, along with his consistency.
Not quite top 6 but after resigning myself to thinking of him as having a ceiling of a third liner with some offensive upside, he's showing more patience with the puck to fit in to the top 6.
he stills makes some slashing and chippy boneheaded plays, including last night where he could have called a couple times, but improving there as Green gives him the tough love he needs.
he's like an tweener power forward right now still learning his craft
Jake is was a top 10 talent based off his phyical attributes alone, you CANNOT teach size with that kind of speed

"The confidence level with our team right now isn't as high as it has been in the past. I maybe sensed that the team was a little fragile for a few seconds there, especially after they tied it. I wanted us to take a breath and refocus." Green on using his timeout
There’s been at least 3 or 4 games earlier this year where green has failed to use his timeout in key situations where we have blown a lead or started to.
maybe he’s starting to learn from his mistakes
