  1. Ehlers is going at most 6th overall - and by this I mean he will likely go higher.

He is one of the most dynamic players in the draft and his skating is like a figure skater on coke, insanely fast feet and agility. I would not be against packaging our pick and prospects/whatever it takes to move into a position to draft him if he falls past there.

  2. Haven't been keeping tabs on him but that isn't incredibly impressive stat-wise. Though he seems to be defensive based so stat-watching is obviously flawed.

Here's hoping he has a smooth transition to the AHL next season and he has no lingering concussion issues!

  3. I think he should play another year after this, and after that it will be up to him whether he wants a degree or a contract to go pro rather than finish his Senior year.

He definitely has the complete package, great size, quick feet, good offensive instincts and shot, and he can play defence (although he needs to work a little bit on calming down in the defensive zone working on his gap control, which Avalanche and a couple guys on HF noted).

I also find it interesting how he has a very similar PPG pace as Shayne Gostisbehere, who Flyers fans are hyping as one of the best Dmen in the country. This is without the size (SG is 5'11 170~) or defensive ability that Hutton has. Definite diamond in the rough on our hands.

  4. I forgot Corrado was a regular, that's why his number changed right? How's he doing this season? Havn't seen him in many games...

Corrado is getting the Tanev treatment this season, he's playing in the AHL to get big minutes and is easily the best dman in Utica. He's less likely to get called up now because of how solid our defense has been and so that he can keep playing big minutes while we bench Weber/Alberts most of the game.

He deserves to be an NHL'er and I feel that Management gave Corrado #26 in Utica as a show of faith

  5. schroeder isnt (and probably wont ever be) a full time roster player.

Schroeder should have made the team this year, injuries are in the way and I expect him to spend the season up after a conditioning stint, barring any significant setback in his play from said injury.

It also doesn't help that his #18 has been taken both years he's been on the team.

  6. He's going to wear 53.

Funny thing is the org doesn't like big numbers, yet all our prospects have been givin big numbers!?

Pretty weird if you ask me.

Low numbers mean you're on the team, like when Corrado went from #57 to #26 when he was called up last season. >40 numbers are for prospects. Rookie numbers have you.

And yeah, Gaunce #50, Jensen #46, Horvat #53, Shinkaruk #48

  7. I'd rather see the Canucks encourage him to wear a traditional hockey number as a pro.

He wears it in respect of a passed friend. If we have #11, #28, and #37 unofficially retired, we should allow him to show that same respect in his way.

  8. I agree that Spirited Away is a great movie. It was a tough choice but for me Code Geass' amazing suspense and its ability to make me question my own morality made me vote for it.

I swear there was no biased reason I paired DBZ with yugioh, such as trying to rig the tournament to take out yugioh.

    :bigblush:

    Hahaha

I'm not going to lie I haven't seen Code Geass, but there isn't much out there that I would pick over Spirited Away.

I'll watch it after I finish the 2nd season of Hayate the Combat Butler (surprisingly nice after Baka and Test, which I liked more than I thought I would)

  9. LOL Sutter this guy... Did Gaunce bang his daughter and not call back or something?

I don't know. It seems to me he's being unnecessarily harsh on one player. Or did he bash some other WJC hopeful prospects as well?

I hope Gaunce would have better taste in women than to bang anything that came from a Sutter

  10. Dal Colle better option

Dal Colle will go top 10. Ho-Sang has really high-end skill but is lacking in size.

Consider him a Shinkaruk/Schroeder pick. Could be better, could be worse. Honestly we should just stick to the routine of drafting the BPA or whoever falls in the first. Though I am a HUGE Nikolaj Ehlers fan and really want him this year.
