The problem is our only high end offensively skilled players are 33 and are beat up, old and have no support to take the heat off. Sure a family can alter a players life away from the rink, but in many cases it can also provide the stability and inspiration for one to excel. To train, eat better, have clarity and focus. Not be out every night partying with the boys. Your statement has merits but is also a cop out and every player and team is different. We're in a slump, were decimated by injury and were still in the playoff hunt. Did you honestly look at our roster at the start of the season and think we were contenders??

Hey I get it. It's frustrating I know! Everyone wants to be the top dog all the time but unless Gillis owns a time machine it's inevitable that we were gonna slide as we aged. It's easy to nit pick what Gillis has done but the fact that we have no one better than the struggling players we have ready to take over means we are gonna suffer for a while. At the beginning of the season where did you see us? I thought a playoff bubble team. The Kings have the same record as us the last 10 games should they fire Dean Lombardi and start the rebuild? Edler was good enough to make the Swedish national team. He has been horrible but back surgery and a knee injury might slow a guy down a little. He'll come back after the Olympics refocused. Have some faith man, they'll right the ship, pick up a couple new faces and if they don't...... well Sam Reinhart and Conner McDavid might look pretty good along side of Horvat and Shinkaruk and others.

We suck right now because D.Sedin, Burrows ,Booth and Henrik have 27 goals combined. Yep folks that's basically 7 goals per top 6 forward. Our so called number one D man is -22. But sure blame the GM ??? He should have known. Why didn't he sign some help........oh yeah! no cap space. they did the exact same the last game. Senators lined four across the blue line all night against Pittsburgh. The rules suck

What the hell Gillis, couldn't get Tinordi? Jk Good pick up to plug the huge hole on our right side of defence right now. I agree with the sentiment that Tortz was never a big Dale Weise fan.

I would like to see Schroeder and Kesler together on a line ala Bergeron and Marchand. Schroeder has the speed to keep up and playmaking that Kes needs. It would also allow for offensive creativity as Kesler can drive down low and Schroeder can cover up high and defensively from time to time. The amount of quality looks Kesler would get will increase with Jordan's excellent passing and his size won't be an issue if they are defending against top lines. Schroeder is top 6 or bust long term. The thought of him on our 3rd or 4th line playing against heavy west teams is hardly ideal.

Kesler is the heart and sole of the Canucks. Without him matching against top lines we are a bottom feeder. Yzerman wanted Drouin bad. The tandem of Stamkos and Drouin will keep them in the hunt for the next 7-10 yrs. 2013 had 4 players that have franchise potential. As good as Kesler is he won't nab you Drouin. Typically a bird in the hand should be worth two in the bush.

Great game from Kesler and Lack. Burrows, Booth, D.Sedin and Edler are just plain painful to watch right now.

Coaching is not the problem. Same players making the same mistakes. Edler, Bieksa, Weber are not solid defensive players consistently and Garrison and Stanton have had there struggles as well.Our lack of offense makes our defense and goaltending vulnerable. In fact its so bad when we had the line brawl against Calgary and both teams had only four defenseman we still couldn't score.

Every GM is gonna say that. He's not gonna cause a media stir by doubting his players.

Torts needs to realize he's not in N.Y. where a 1hr bus ride gets you to long island or Newark. Add to that our core is around 30 and need less minutes not more.

Just stating the major difference between the two teams right now. I agree with the four lines thing. My earlier post indicated my frustration with our coaches not rolling 4 lines.

The Hawks have Hossa, Sharp and Saad and we have Daniel, Burrows and Booth.

I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact we never play the fourth line. Sestito scores and plays 4:46. Dalpe gets a goal and an assist in the top 9. Next game 4th line. I know there not pretty to watch but they soften defenses and allow the top 9 to have more effective minutes. Outclassed tonight. Entertaining game though.

Man our first line sucked. On the bright side D.Sedin is in Olympic form.
