    Brendan Gaunce | C/LW

Everyone in camp will get a chance. Its what he does with it.
  2. I say no to firing Gillis. Took an above average team and turned it into the best team ever in Canuck history. Would be a legend too if we didn't get decimated by injury. The team peaked then and due to a core aging and some bad luck and mental blockages we just simply regressed. Nothing short of a time machine could have prevented this. Failure to accept it is foolhearty. My biggest problem with MG was not utilizing Hodgson and Schneider for Jeff Carter. But only people on the inside know if we had a legit chance to do such a move. I think he deserves a chance to craft his own team and I like the some of the pieces in place already.
  3. Good statement game. Nolan is a puke. Even Brown was willing eventually to take his licks. Good job by Sestito and Kassian stepping up.....would be better if they can find ways of staying in the game. Hamhuis needs to bust his ass back if he's caught pinching. Really soft backcheck.
  4. Oohhh mmannn. I love this guy. Brings a smile to my face....lovin the Frank the Tank celebration. Welcome to the top 6.....it's been a long time coming. Keep hustling and you'll be staying.......we need it.
  5. Kunitz Crosby Tavares Duchene Getzlaf Perry Nash Toews Sharp Benn Bergeron Carter Marleau Stamkos Keith Weber Bouwmeester Pietrangelo Hamhuis Doughty Vlasic Subban Price Luongo Smith Would have liked a little more youth and speed amongst the forwards. (Hall, Seguin, Couture) Not a big fan of the Kunitz selection and I'm a little worried about Benn and Nash having the footspeed. Go Canada!
  6. If we were 100% healthy and rested we would be hard pressed to beat contenders like LA and Anaheim. Especially in their buildings. Back to back and decimated by injury....well its hard to watch. We have fallen back and others have gotten stronger. The guys are gamers but no quality help has emerged. Real dissapointed in some of our role players...Booth and Hansen especially. I agree that it may be the year to move a few vets to acquire a quality young player and open up some roster spots.
  7. With just a few days to go... Staal Crosby Tavares Nash Toews Sharp Hall Getzlaf Perry Lucic Bergeron Seguin Couture Stamkos **(Giroux if Stamkos is out) Keith Weber Bouwmeester Pietrangelo Phaneuf Doughty Hamhuis Subban Luongo Price Smith
  8. Lack is better because he comes with Bo Horvat.
  9. Nash is 29. Kane is 22. Big fan of Nash but he'll start next year as a 30 yr old with injury problems and a HUGE contract. In a couple seasons Kane > Nash. I make that deal. SEDIN SEDIN BURROWS KANE KESLER BOOTH HIGGINS SANTORELLI KASSIAN ARCHIBALD RICHARDSON WEISE. Chicago, LA and SJ verrrrrrrryyyyyy nerrrrvvvoouuussss.
  10. That's a good proposal. The Jets could then move Byfuglien to Philly for the Schenn's and they would be sitting pretty. Santorelli and Kassian eat Hansen's minutes. Corrado and Garrison eat Edler's. Kane makes Shinkaruk redundant. I drool at a future line of...Kane-Horvat-Kassian.
  11. What a bad day for hockey. Is it really a surprise that the Bruins are involved in another ugly incident. When you use intimidation as your gameplan for beating teams do you expect players to just roll over and take it. Chara on Pacioretty, Boychuk on Raymond, Lucic on Miller...this is a self righteous errogant organization that believes that because they are the biggest bully in the neighborhood no one should be able to stand up to them and play physically. What Neal and Thornton did was disgraceful. Hitting defenseless players while down should be at minimum 20 games for 1st time offenders.
  12. Kane is exactly what this team needs. 3 way deal???? VCR - Edler, Hansen, Booth, 1st = 10.6 m PHIL- B.Schenn, L.Schenn, Meszaros = 8.47 m WPG- Kane, Stuart = 6.95 m TO: VCR- Kane, Stuart, Meszaros = 11.95 m PHIL- Edler, Booth(@3.25) 1st = 8.25 m WPG- B.Schenn, Hansen, L.Schenn = 5.82 m Fixed
  13. The Booth hate on these boards is reminiscent of the Bieksa, Salo, Raymond, Kesler and Edler hate. It's predictable and naive to the fact that players recovering from severe injuries are not going to be 100% for a longer period of time than most find acceptable. Booth may never reach a level that is worthy of his inflated salary, and with injury and time missed many dont ever get back. A healthy Booth is a player we need. Will he ever be really back?? Debatable. I say give it time. He may be "weird" but the guy has a desire to be a top athlete so we need to give him a chance. Ideally Booth finds some sort of groove and starts playing great just in time for Jordan Schroeder to come back and be the guy that sucks, was a wasted pick, too small, etc.
  14. This team needs size and goal scoring in our top 6 not a 32 yr old has been playmaker. Just my opinion. Erat in the right setting has some productivity left. My feeling is he is not a good fit here. As for Nazzy I feel horrible I used him and Erat in the same sentence.
  15. C'mon Old News!! The Naslund comparison... 48 goals 104 pts to 24 goals at the end of his tenure. This with top line minutes and pp. Not nearly the same killer instinct. Are we remembering the same player here. As I stated a comparable drop off has Erat netting us 25-35pts and soft as butter with not a lot of finish. Erat-Kesler-Schroeder following the twins now that is a playoff lineup to fear. I don't see how Erat helps unless Gillis wants to trade Schroeder for him. Which would be a mistake.

    Brendan Gaunce | C/LW

Great opportunity for Gaunce to make a long run this spring. Watched the superseries and loved what I saw. Skating looks improved. Really presents as a pro, looked like Lucic with his skating style and size. If Gaunce develops a mean streak he's gonna be quite the player for the Canucks. Hope he makes junior team.
  17. Why would we want an older soft player struggling to score in our top 6. Erat's game has really fallen fast for a guy only 32. Trading Booth a guy younger with size who can provide some pushback against the big California rivals would be a horrible trade IMO. Rather we kept Raymond.
  18. Love the optimism....and I agree. Did it against Toronto and last night we answered the bell admirably. Changed the momentum in our favor after the response. When Burr, Booth and Hansen start putting up some numbers the tide will turn.
  19. So was Stan Bowman's, so was Burkies in Anaheim.
  20. Arrrrrrrrggggghhhhhh Edler!!! 6 blocked shots and the bonehead play of the game. At this point Corrado would be an upgrade. Our power play has no movement with Garrison and Edler on the point. I said it before but Hamhuis and either Bieksa or Burrows need to be out with the twins and Kesler. We should have buried them. We are extremely fragile right now. Kesler Booth Hansen were a good sign. How the hell did Stanton get Nolan....Kass and Tostito are boneheads.
  21. For the love of god Heffy just stop will ya!! If you understand hockey you would know the fact that when your goalie lets in 2 or less goals he's giving you a chance to win. I get that your frustrated but cmon. You can't seriously be digging up crap about Luongo to justify the fact our offense can't get it done?? Do you realize that your crapping all over the top goalie for Canada?? Think about it. I thought the game was unreal tonight. Tremendous pace throughout. Were an older team now and as the game wore on we once again lacked the killer instinct around the net.
  22. Watch him play and report back. Remember when Naslund lost it. That is where this guy is at except Nazzy had futher to fall. Is not an upgrade on anyone and would make us even softer.....no thanks.
  23. Was an excellent player....His play the last couple of seasons suggests he's done though. Getting Forsberg for Erat was a steal for the Preds.
