  1. With his cannon of a shot, you'd think he'd get a goal by now...
  2. I think someone mentioned that he's an Avs fan from earlier in this thread.
  3. From watching the games, Bo seemed to be okay for a 19 year old, but I'm not sold yet. I'd let him play 20-30 more games before I'd form an opinion on Bo. But so far, I'm not exactly sold.
  4. Well I just thought it'd be pretty cool to have him play for his hometown team and that it'd be extra cool to have him with Bo since I feel that they would compliment each other pretty well. Didn't think Ottawa would be willing to trade him or anything, just a cool thought I thought I'd share that's all. Edit: However, I do in fact trade for Lazar in NHL 15 whether the Sens like it or not
  5. Bo is on pace for a higher amount of points than local boy, Curtis Lazar! Both two-way centers from the 2013 draft. Would be pretty cool to somehow bring Lazar home and have him and Bo be a shutdown tandem. I think Lazar's speed and shooting ability would compliment Bo's puck possession and passing game nicely. Quite a nice blend in my opinion.
  6. How cool would it be to pick up Ryan Gropp in the 2015 draft and have two B.C. born powerforwards? Virtanen-_____ - Gropp I think it'd allow the Canucks to pickup a centre that's a little bit undersized but filled with skill and put him between the two of them. Would be even cooler if he was B.C. born as well, then we'd have a B.C. line One can dream
  7. Wow what a bust. In all seriousness, Markstrom is still relatively young for a goaltender so I hope he makes the bigs soon!
  8. Or just not hold a draft for one year.
  9. Both left-wingers though Fastest center prospect we have is probably Jared Mccan. Shinkaruk - Mccan - Virtanen DAYUMMMMM.
  10. I know you're joking, but if that actually happens, it'd be a really good idea. People label Bo a a 2/3 liner due to his limited offensive upside, but if he played in the SEL, it'd allow him to develop more on his skills and offensive abilities opposed to going back to juniors.
  11. I'd give Horvat nine games before sending him down. Personally, I would cut him after nine games to play it safe because I don't want Horvat to end up being a really good 3rd liner when he can and should develop into a really good two-way 2nd liner. Excited to see Horvat and his "bo-drag."
  12. From my understanding they'll still have to go back to junior. The whole 10 game thing is about using a year up on their contract.
  13. If we get Iginla AND Ehrhoff?! Sedin-Sedin-Iginla Edler-Ehrhoff Can someone say #1 powerplay?
  14. I hope you're right because if his hockey IQ and playmaking abilities are much better than what most scouting reports say it is then we definitely made the right pick.
  15. Hey guys, I know Joshua Ho-Sang is ranked around the late first, but if he lands on 36 I say we take him. Joshua Ho-Sang albeit a little undersized at 5'11 and 176 lbs. as per Wikipedia and Eliteprospects, this guy has just unreal hands and can definitely skate. I hear different people talking about him having attitude problems but I think he's just incredibly competitive and has the swagger that the Canucks need. Although he's gifted offensively, he's not slob in the defensive zones and in the corners. In this highlight package put together by Big White, he does indeed battle for the puck and back checks. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3VrzVxSBC0
  16. I believe he's talking about a pass disguised as a shot. Like the slap-pass that the Sedins used to use real often with Edler and Ehrhoff back in '11 on the PP.
  17. Honestly, if we can acquire a mid-late 1 round pick I'd like to draft Sonny Milano. The kid is actually 5'11.5 and 183 pounds so I wouldn't say he's "undersized." He could be the steal of the draft. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pz0dX8SPyC0 I guess you could say he's Sonny with a Chance.
  18. Call me crazy but I'd be willing to overpay and go all in for Reinhart. But no, I wouldn't package Horvat+6th overall for Reinhart. What I WOULD do is Tanev/Garrison+Hansen+6th overall+Gaunce+3rd round pick for the 1st overall+Gudbranson. Why? 1) Tallon wants players they can win with NOW. If we give them either Garrison or Tanev, that fits the mold. If they get Tanev, they get younger and some immediate help, if they get Garrison they get Garrison in his prime. 2) Hansen's speed would definitely help the Panthers in the Eastern conference, he'd eat up lots of minutes and shutting down the opposing players while mentoring the Panther's younger players at the same time. 3) 6th overall + Gaunce. Panthers need the 6th more than the Leaf's 8th to guarantee one of either Ehlers or Nylander. If they take the Leaf's 8th, it's definitely possible that both Ehlers AND Nylander gets picked by then. Gaunce in my opinion is the overpayment that would make Tallon bite. With Cole Cassels emerging as one of our most underrated centers, Gaunce in my opinion is worth sacrificing for Reinhart. 4) Conditional 3rd round pick, if the Panthers make the playoffs then we can keep it. If not, they can have the 3rd round pick. I know this is a crazy and massive overpayment, but you've gotta give to get. I think this is what it'd take to beat Phaneuf+Kadri. 5) We get Reinhart and Gudbranson back. Gudbranson is starting to really look like a bust, but it'd definitely add depth to our shallow defensive prospects. Just some of my own thoughts.
  19. Not a bad idea, but we lack offense from forwards. Emerson Etem would look great especially when he and Shinkaruk have great chemistry together. Both of their highest jr. point totals came from those two playing on the same line. If we can acquire Etem, I'd definitely look forward to seeing those two to continue working their chemistry in the professional levels, whether it be in the AHL or the NHL. Preferably the NHL but if not, then hopefully they will soon enough.
  20. Well in that case then I suppose nobody is going to drop to us unless we trade up. If Calgary isn't going to go off the board, then I doubt any other team would. I mean unless NYI is interested on going off the board... Wish Feaster was still the Flames GM
  21. Hahaha only on Friday nights and Saturday mornings
  22. I don't see why not, 6'1 and already 212 pounds. Speedy power winger with a strong shot. He's also a player who is already a part of the Calgary community. Lots of traits that the Flames organization is looking for.
  23. Crosby's league leading 104 pts. has something to say about that. But man, if it wasn't for that concussion Crosby would've broken some records. Wouldn't actually mind that trade if we don't give up our second next year.
  24. I'm not saying he should make the NHL right away next season. He asked which prospect has a reasonable chance of making the NHL next year, and I think Draisaitl has a reasonable chance for sure. Not saying he would or should, I just think he is most likely out of all of the potential first rounders this year. Ekblad i think has a really good chance as well, he's 6'4 and 216 lbs. Maybe even a bigger chance of making it that Draisaitl. Both are really great prospects.
