Well that's not likely to be Schneider
He’s 20 years old....what exactly makes him less likely than any other 1st rd pick?

If the Rangers or any other team want Miller they need to offer up their best RD prospect. If they don’t want to then they can consider Boeser or Garland. You don’t get a top line player for your 2nd tier prospects even if you package a few of them together (quality is greater than quantity) end of story.
This exactly. Either give up schneider or miss out on miller is how I see it. There should be at least one piece coming back who is a bonafide blue chip can’t miss prospect/player in any deal for miller. This team desperately needs a young stud defence man who has norris potential.

I’m sure that Drury and his staff is thinking, they offer their initial offer as low as possible to see if Van management is dumb enough to bite (cause, well, Benning might have). I don’t think their initial offer is their final offer. Lots of time to negotiate too. JR talking to the media, he’s playing the media and the game the right way, unlike Benning.
Oh for sure drury is playing hardball right now and that might change. I’m fairly confident Rutherford will be smarter than benning was when it comes to these types of negotiations.

At this point I’m sorry but if the rags don’t want to give up schneider then f*%#!& them! You have to give to get and none of their other players besides Laffy interest me much. If I’m JR and they say no then I’m doing everything I can to deal miller to a team like Washington for Mcmichael and some picks.

Lol true enough ..Horvats the most overated canuck
Lol I’d definitely say he’s the most underrated of the core players. Was an absolute stud in the bubble

Both gudbranson and schenn are prime examples of players who came along at the wrong time. Put either player in the league during the 90’s or early 2000’s when physicality was still a huge part of the game and they would have been top 4 d for their whole careers. I definitely have a soft spot for the throwback old school style defencemen who stick up for their teammates, love seeing the schenndozer playing so well as of late.

Love that she was an agent for a bunch of French Canadian players as this is a weakness we’ve had since burr! How can you have a stanley cup contender without a frenchie on the team?!! Maybe we can swindle the rags and pry laffy from them.

Schenn landed at least 5 to the face, two direct blows plus body shots.
You could tell when he was sitting in the box he had some damage. Wasn’t completely one sided but close to.
Schenn definitely had the upper hand but Mac landed a few as well. Overall just a good old school tilt. Probably the only entertaining part of that game

Then he must have got punched in the head more times than I realized.
Usually you save that for when you don’t get dummied in a fight.
I definitely wouldn’t say he got “dummied” and I’m sure his teammates respect him for throwing down regardless of winning or losing the fight

Green is an AHL level coach. It’s time to move on, he can take baumer with him as well. Not sure if Shaw is capable of being a head coach but I’d definitely keep him around as an assistant.

Missed the game...who fought, and apparently beat, MacEwen
Schenn. It was an old school scrap where both guys were just throwing punches with little to no defence. Not many fights like that anymore, reminded me of the 90’s

It was funny after the fight when MacEwan threw his arms up like the crowd was cheering for him.
Seemed like he thought he still played for the Canucks for a second.
Also he lost that fight big time so I’m not sure what he was celebrating
He was just trying to rile his own team up. He was looking directly at the philly bench when he was waving his arms around.

Where is everyone streaming this game?!! Help!!

I always like to see canadian players doing well throughout the league but when it comes to teams it’s only canucks, I did however cheer pretty hard for the blues last year but they were stacked with good canadian kids and I &^@#ing hate the bruins.

If you listen to this J.D. Burke interview, he explains that the underlying numbers still seem to indicate that it is more likely that this current production is noise rather than indicative of a sustained higher trajectory.
There certainly isn't enough of a sample to indicate he is a legit 20 goal scorer. He has had a good few weeks after a poor training camp, October and November.
The real worry is that he hits 20 goals this year and his arbitration number gets ugly... and then he reverts back to the mean. You could be looking at an arbitration award that starts with a three or four, and that is a worrying number. The team will have a really difficult decision deciding on whether he is a player they want to spend that money on or whether a return from a trade could be worth more.Jd burke? Lol might as well ask my 9 year old neice what she thinks about virtanen

I would love to see them bring back the schenndozer for that added toughness. I was stoked when benning signed benn but he’s been a disappointment so far Imo, seems like a bit of a fake tough guy with all the tattoos and big beard and yet not any memorable hits or scraps yet. I still think we need a physical deterrent sometimes and schenn was awesome in that role last year.

Wow hayton looks like a stud, coyotes look like they got a good one there. As far as all the diving stuff goes I hate it but can’t really blame the canadians, the russians were flopping all over as usual and getting the calls so what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Here’s to hoping benning starts drafting some more homegrown talent.

Bowey back in the lineup tonight and scores a goal. I wonder if waivers was a wake up call

You stating most norris winners aren’t first rd picks only proves my point though.... it’s pretty hard to predict who’s going to become that calibre of defenceman. Not saying he’s a shoe in or anything but he’s got as much a shot as anyone else imo
