  1. My thoughts being at the game last night.

A lot of sloppy passes by the young guys. I saw a lot of just lobbing the puck to no one or way off target. The passes weren't crisp and often slow which made it very easy for Calgary to pick them off and go the other way. The Horvat Miller Goldy line was our best line by far. For most of the game the Canucks couldn't hem the Calgary in their end. I think Calgary scored early which allowed them all to relax and just be in the game while the Canucks were tense and nervous for the first 2 periods. I think had the Canucks scored on one of the penalties early in the game it would have been a far different game but that isn't what happened so it is speculation.

DiPietro looked bad in my opinion, he would do the Luongo belly flop on the first shot and then it was mostly up to the defenders to block the shot or get to the puck first.

Tanev was super smooth. I saw many times were Calgary was about to be threat and Tanev would just calming break it up.

Jake returning to his hometown for the world-famous Abbotsford Airshow! This photo was taken from the Abbotsford Airshow's Facebook page:

"Our Airshow President, Jim Reith, is joined by Canucks winger, Jake Virtanen. Thanks for spending the day with us yesterday, Jake! We hope you had a great time 2708.png"

Clearly Jake is trying to cover up how fat his shoulders have gotten over the summer, why else would you wear a sweater like that! ;P

I really like Jake, I hope he comes in and continues what he did last year. Only a couple percentage increase in effectiveness and he is a good solid player.

I am not too familiar with the OHL but that seems like a crazy stat. He’s playing very well! Good to see we have so much goalie talent in the cupboard.

  4. MT is just another Kesler with an even worse attitude. I personally wouldn't want that on my team if I was a Canuck but I don't know what he is like in the locker room.

Olli is young and injury plagued. The injuries have me worried a bit because it could be a serious set back, but surgeries and rehab have gotten so much better even over the last 5 years so I am sure his chances of him regaining pre-injury form is high. When he was drafted it was hoped he would be a 1/2 D but  quickly it became apparent that he probably wouldn't, I suspect he is going to be a really good 3/4 D which is still a position that needs filling on our team. We just need another 1/2 D to compliment Hughes.

The only difference there is Mike Green has/had a great shot. Quinn doesn't and likely won't ever have a good shot, as it has very little to do with weight and much more to do with fundamentals - just look at Elias for proof of that.

Quinn will be a solid offensive defenseman that has elite puck-moving and skating skills - but I most of you guys in here seem to think he's a lock for a perennial Norris candidate-level player and I just don't think there's much evidence that he's got that ability/type of game.

There is nothing you can't improve. Just look at Jake Virtanen's hands this year. You put in deliberate practice every day and you will get results. No he won't be the best shot but it is naive to think he couldn't make it good.

Okay everyone.  The joke is over.  It’s dead.  It’s his BROTHER!

Wow we got a player that can also transform into his own brother. That's next level $&!#. There is nothing this kid can't do!

This has me so excited for next year, that line of Bo Brock and Sven was doing so well before the injury bug. If that line stayed healthy Bo could have had 60 pts in my opinion.
