Oranje
Cro Cop denies DREAM deal. ZAGREB - The same Saturday night in which Mirko Filipović in only three minutes TKOed Britain Mostapha Al Turk, President of American Organization UFC Dana White without any argument accused the Croatian master of the ultimat fighting for the fraud and hypocrisy. Ten days ago Dana White and Cro Cop have a phone made arrangements for the duel on the UFC 99 tournament in Cologne Lanxess Arena, leaving open the possibility that cooperation prolongs for the two further tournaments. However, the head of the UFC on Saturday felt fooled because he thought that the Croatian gladiator signed a new contract with the Japanese Dream. ... Before we accuse Crocop for hypocrisy, let us see what lays below Dana White's empty phrase of honor. UFC leader is angry because Mirko, just as Fedor Emilianenko, the best MMA fighter in the world, did not agree to perform only twice in the next 12 months. However, it is not true that Cro Cop signed with Dream. We have learned that Mirko Crocop still did not sign neither with Dream nor with UFC, and that he is ready to discuss any offer. Moreover, Mirko expected after the victory in Cologne immediate talks with Dana White about the new contract and is surprised by the accusations of UFC's president. "I don’t know why White listened to the roumors instead of talking to me. I hoped that we will talk about a continuing of our collaboration, because the only obstacle was the long period between two fights that has been offered to me. I don’t want to sit at home so long and waiting that someone calls me for a figh. However, I am grateful to Dana White for an opportunity to fight in Cologne and despite his harsh words, I don’t see the reason that we don’t prolong the contract – explained Mirko after returning from Germany. White gave Crocop the opportunity to fight in Cologne to use his charisma of the most popular European fighter and suggested two more bouts, under the condition that he doesn’t fight for other promotions. Because Dream offered him also three-fights contract, but in the next 6 months, why shouldn’t Mirko take some time to consider what is better to him? http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2009/6/14/90942...-cro-cop-denies
roster19
Cro Cop's fight was terrible. Al-Turk was hitting him a few times, then CC blatantly eye-poked him. Referee Dan Marigliotta did NOTHING. Al-Turk completely turned his body around and covered his eye up, in some obvious pain. Then, CC started wailing on him, evetually TKO'ing him. Blatantly is an interesting choice of word. Mirko was stalking Al-Turk the whole fight telegraphing every haymaker sent his way, and shrugging off his attempt to clinch. When the moment was right, he took it to Al-Turk and knocked him down. The eye gouge came shortly after that, and, although it was obvious that it happened, I wouldn't call it intentional. This fight reminded me a lot of the Eddie Sanchez fight where you know what the outcome is going to be, and the underdog just throws hoping to catch that Hail Mary punch. King of Anarchy
As expected a heavyweight bout between former UFC title-holders Randy Couture (16-9 MMA, 13-6 UFC) and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (31-5-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) will serve as the headliner for UFC 102 on Aug. 29, the UFC today announced. The event takes place at the Rose Garden in Porland, Ore., and is the UFC's first-ever event in the state. The night's main card, including the heavyweight main event, airs on pay-per-view. That should be a hell of a fight.

Yah, shoulda worded that better. Blatantly OBVIOUS is what I meant. I'm sure he dodn't mean to, but Marigliotta is a tard ref and should've seen that right away and given Al-Turk his time. Not that it would've had any outcome on the ending really, but you hate to see refs screw up as bad as they can. Yves Lavgne has been in some controversy as of late (Nover/Bradley, Brown/Sell). Raoul Duke
Big question..... Anyone interested in going to UFC 102 in Portland, OR on August 28? I can get presale tickets (up to 6), and will be buying two for myself. If you're interested, lemme know ASAP and I can try and get you some. This is a very affordable trip, being that Portland is only 5 1/2 jrs away from Vancouver. Plus, no Vegas = no Gambling!! Again, lemme know. Presale is this Thursday morning. Usually, they go anywhere from $75-$1,000. But a 5 1/2 hr drive to see Couture/Nogeira and Marquardt/Maia.... hell yah!!

No worries. I figure this is a great way for some of the UFC fans on here to see a show live, one that is affordable too. Portland is an easy drive and the hotel options are great. Not to mention you won't need much money for gambling!

Raoul Duke
So..... Managed to get UFC 102 tickets this morning. Only problem was, when I went back to get a few more (you were allowed up to eight apparently), it said my code was invalid or has already been used. So basically I had to buy all my tickets in one check out. LAME AS F***!! I was actually gonna buy some extras for people here that wanted to go. Regardless, I got the $50 seats (cheapest available), probably way high up. Anyone been in the Rose Graden or know what the seating's like there? 101 isn't too shabby either. Penn vs Florian, Silva vs Griffin. Extra stoked about the next 2 ppv's Yesssir. The next three cards are some of the best in a long time! UFC 100 July 11 Vegas Lesnar vs Mir GSP vs Alves Hederson vs Bisping Fitch vs Thiago Akiyama (UFC debut) vs Belcher UFC 101 Aug 8 Philly Penn vs Florian A. Silva vs Griffin Sadollah vs Hendricks Grove vs Almeida Neer vs Pellegrino UFC 102 Aug 29 Portland Couture vs Nogueira Marquardt vs Maia Jardine vs T. Silva Leben vs Rosholt Vera vs Hamill Lovin it. Gonna be at two of em too!
