Getting Younger For Next Year

Recommended Posts

I think it's about time the Canucks get a little younger next year. I look at teams like the Avalanche

and the flyers and how well they have implemented their young prospects into their rosters. Guys

like Duchene, Couturier, Schenn, O'reilly. I'm tired of the excuses that our prospects are not NHL ready. How will we ever know unless we give them a shot? It's like saying Schneider has no playoff experience. How is he supposed to get playoff experience if we don't use him? Maybe if we played him more in the playoffs then he would get some playoff experience! It's not rocket science! As for prospects, I find it hard to believe that Couturier is more NHL ready than a guy like Schroeder who is older and more physically and mentally ready. If you're still not convinced, look at Ryan O'Reilly. He was a second round pick in 2009 and was put into the linup the year he got drafted and now he's their best 2-way forward.

my suggestion:

sedin-sedin-burrows

booth-*playmaking center*-kesler

higgins-schroeder-jensen

hansen-lapierre-kassian

hamhuis-bieksa

edler-*right handed defenseman to replace salo* (bogosian mabe?)

connauton-tanev

Schneider

lack

I think it would be worth a shot to try don't you? I think this is a great combination of youth and leadership.

Kesler is a centerman. We should sign Ray Whitney as a playmaking winger for that line.

We traded Hodgson and got Pahlsson because the Canucks want a checking third line not a scoring one. Schroeder and Jensen are not those players. They may be fined as two-way players but surely are not the shut down guys we want.
