Fer da fourth line, yo. Get 'er dun, GMMG

Aight, here's why:

Will come cheap.

27 years old

6'2 210lbs

Consistently has put up 15/20+ points. Should be expected given solid line mates in that role as well and not NHL/AHL scrubs like we are known for.

Last year statistics: 95 hits in 84 games Wasn't even a hit a game with his full season in Colorado the year before. But in Phoenix before that, he was 104 hits in 74 games (A bit of a gamble perhaps, you don't know what you're going to get physicality wise). Fairly durable over his career thus far. Also last year, 50 blocks. 24 giveaways BUT 55 takeaways. He has always been very good at stealing the puck.

Winnik can play center but typically used as a winger. 44% on face offs; not terrible for someone who generally is a winger.

And lastly, he's better than anyone else we're going to insert on the fourth line: Volpatti, Oreskovich, Pinizzotto, etc.

If he wanted to play here then why not.

Depth is always a good thing.

Not to mention he's a decent penalty killer. He can probably come for cheap if he just wants to play on a good team. It'll be a matter of if he's willing to accept a 4th line role or try and see if a weaker team will offer him an expanded role.
