Definitely among my favourite NHL players, and yeah, as others said... it was a pretty obvious decision for the Flyers organization given Giroux's insane skill and the leadership skills he has demonstrated. I remember the playoffs last year... talk about a guy who STEPS IT UP in big games. His points-per-game were far and above everyone else's in the playoffs as well. No idea where he came from. Wasn't the most talked about prospect. Guess he got overshadowed by the likes of Toews, Johnson, and Staal but he is performing right up there with the best of them.
