JE14 Posted June 1, 2013 Share Posted June 1, 2013 Luongo, Edler, Schroeder, 1st 2013, 2nd 2014 for Matthias, Campbell, 1st We definitely have to take salary back and this trade helps us tremendously as we finally replace Ehrhoff, we get our third line center and we can get a pretty good prospect. In Florida's POV they get a great goaltender, a 50 point defender just about to reach his prime, a prospect who should play well in the East and two great picks. Gillis would not trade Edler right after signing him to an extension in which he took a pay cut to stay here. That would absolutely kill his rep and make it extremely hard to sign players, plus all the negative media attention league wide. Plus, Edler will have a bounce back year next year and will be a valuable asset. Don't believe me, just watch. But if we were able to trade Schroeder, Loungo, a first, and next years second for Mattias and get Nathan Mackinnon, I think I can get behind that.
