-Vintage Canuck- Posted June 12, 2014 Author Share Posted June 12, 2014 The New York Rangers will be looking to avoid being swept by the Los Angeles Kings in the Stanley Cup Final, but one fan in attendance at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday will have something much more important than hockey on his mind as Rangers fans band together to send grieving father to Game 4 of Stanley Cup Final. When Bobby Ackerman purchased his baby daughter a Rangers' Henrik Lundqvist jersey, he did so in hopes that she would wear it to a Stanley Cup Final game; sadly, Madison passed away in April at four months old, just as the Rangers were getting ready for the postseason. Ackerman told Tom Gulitti of The Record the Rangers playoff run was “the only thing keeping me from thinking horrible thoughts.” “I still can't find the words,” said Ackerman, who will bring the small Lundqvist jersey with him in memory of Madison. “I'm just your average guy who loves hockey.
