Cataract Surgery - Have you had it done?

Looks like I will be having cataract surgery in the near future. The thought of someone working on your eye while you are awake scares the hell out of me. Has anyone had it done? And if so, how was your experience? Were you scared about it and what did you feel or see during the operation/procedure?

Jokes aside, I haven't had it but my mom works at an eye clinic. They'll give you something and you won't feel a thing.

Afterwards, it'll be irritating for a few days.
