    That's odd, most of the reliable charts have him ranked 6-8. The odd outlier has him at 10+. Consensus from mixed rankings: 7. Maybe you should look again. Mock drafts have Cozens going 5-8, so yeah, almost exactly like Jake.

    Agreed. Maybe Cozens translates better to the NHL than Jake did, but I'd be hesitant to take him top 5 like many of the mock drafts suggest.

    Maybe. I think you're wearing rose tinted glasses. Luc was absolutely not trending to be a stud D, but a good top 4. I remember there cleary being doubts about his development. Are you sure you were paying attention back then? Saying he had any chance of matching Kopitar's career is obviously foolish. You're the one rewriting history.

    Yeah you need to be careful with small guys. They aren't all Gaudreau. What makes Gaudreau special is his ability to turn on a dime and skate circles around the offensive zone while maintaining possession. Is Caufield that dynamic?

    Moving up is a waste of time unless Benning and company have the inside line on a steal pick. 3-12 this year is an absolute blender of a crapshoot, I'm not sure 5th or 10th pick really matters. It would be nice to "get your guy" but not nice enough to give up other prospects. If you can grab Krebs, Zegras, Boldy or Soderstrom at 10 you call it a win and move on.

    Colorado has Francouz in their system, a goalie prospect already on par with Demko.

    Except the Jets/Thrashers were terrible for a literal decade. That got them a lot of prospects. It's kind of hard to compare us and them when we've only been bad for 3 seasons. Do we really want to follow the Jets example and be "patient" (suck) for 7 more years? Reminder: The Jets haven't won F all yet.

    Lol at people defending Guddy here. Shows how many posters on this board are stuck in 2003. Gudbranson is the polar opposite of the modern NHL player.

    I'm pretty sure this is a post-Beagle pick up. If management has Gaudette penciled in as near future 3C, this could be our depth/injury centre that matches the window of the other guys on our team. If Benning and Dorion both believed Dahlen couldn't make the NHL as a winger, this is a good move. We'll see.

    Pretty much. The way it is now we're going to lose someone like Granlund, Goldolbin or Roussel. Easily replaceable.

    I'd do it. I'll take a franchise defender over Shinks any day. You can't win without a stud D-man, that's been proven over and over and over. It's a lot easier to find second line offence.

    When was the last time a significant 3 way deal happened? 90's? 80's? Don't waste time thinking about 3 way deals.

    Out of the 4 teams left I respect the Hawks the most, even if I don't like them. So..Go Toews I guess?

    Perry has got to bury those chances. That's why LA is such a good playoff team. Gamebreakers throughout the line-up.

    Honestly I'd keep Malkin and trade Crosby. I don't think Crosby provides much more than Malkin does as a player and think of the gigantic return you'd get for Crosby for his name alone. One's got a Conn Smythe and the other doesn't. It would probably be career suicide though.
