coastal1
5) is clearly false. It has been reported by numerous sources that two prior CT scans came back as negative for any sort of fracture. As soon as the third CT scan showed a fracture, Kesler was placed on IR.
stawns
this just proves how brainless MG is , when that trade went down he looked into the camera with a straight face and said this is the player we need in our lineup today to help this team go deep in the playoffs , no one else anywhere said he was ready to make an impact but MG. All analysts on tsn, sportsnet ect all said kassian is still a few years away from making an impact but MG thought he knew better than them. and he was dead wrong. hes coasting on a core of players that nonis and burke put in place. MG and AV are the equvilant of bill clinton (hear me out) everyone looks back to how good the economy was in the states when bill was incharge, he was a good pres ,but the tech and internet boom that provided hundreds of thousands of jobs in the states just happend to happen when he was president he had nothing to do with it. MG and AV just happen to be in charge when these great players that other GMs brought in hit their prime. AV didnt turn sedins kesler burrows ect into the players they are and MG didnt bring them in. Burlinbert
I have absolutely no issues with the kassian-Hodgson move. Hodgson was a primadonna and so deficient in his own end it was hard to watch at times. Kassian is a dose of what this team needs.......he just needs to be put in a better position to succeed. I actually think JS is a better all around player than CH
chrisbanks
I agree Hodgson is a good player but not what the canucks are missing. we dont need play-making centers , Canucks need big bodied forwards Yes Hodgson is getting points playing on the top line. he would do the same here if he was playing with the sedins

uber_pwnzor
I'm super bummed over Volpati... Liked him much, much better than Weise
stawns
......Yea a playmakin C is exactly what this team needs and has needed. The guy could bump Kesler out to wing, and then boom, both problems are solved. We went from being one of the deepest teams in the league at center, to having 1. CB007
Totally agree. MG has, as I put it lost focus. I site it further back though. I think it starts with the Samualsson deal.
CB007
in a nutshell, that was MG's fatal flaw. Hockey is and always will be a physical game first and foremost. It has been proven over and over and over that physicality always trumps pure skill. Teams that are successful have found a mix of the two attributes. MG has not. CB007
this team is much better without a primadona, one dimensional 23 year old bitching about not getting enough icetime when he plays behind a hart trophy winner and a selke winner
Sanford
Canuck Fans...... 1) Luongo/Schneider debacle since the playoffs and the fact he's still here (including the drama with McPhee and Nonis) Yea i really hate Gillis , Damn him for giving us the best goaltending duo over the last three years 2) Malhotra decision (which appears he wants out but Gillis doesn't want him traded) Malhotra will be part of the coaching staff him and Gillis talked about other options for next year thats why he wasnt traded 3) Inexplicable reason for putting Volpatti on waivers (and getting nothing for him in return; perhaps McPhee's way of accepting Gillis' apologyoh my Gillis just gave away a career minor leaguer for nothing 4) The whole Kesler injury thing with him, his Agent and AV MAYBE YOU SHOULD BE BLAMING KESLER HIS AGENT AND THE MEDIA 5) Kesler again playing injured when he should of sat (played on a broken foot since Dallas game; now out 1-2 months) XRAYS SHOWED NO BROKEN BONES WHEN HE CAME HOME THEY DID A CT SCAN shows a hairline fracture 6) Kassian getting 5 minutes on the 4th line (how does this help his play when we need him to be contributing on the top 6 forwards?) ever herd of a utility player can play all 4 lines thats a tool for AV to utilise 7) Picking up Cam Barker....Cam Barker?? (how about Ben Lovejoy for a pick?) wow crying about barker ... the guy hasnt even played yet 8) Inability to recognize the team has been missing a major intangible (drive?determination/scoring?coaching?depth? special teams?toughness?grit?leadership?ethic?) in their game since the SC Finals or at least since the Boston game last year... you do realize the canucks are stanley cup favorites right we have plenty of drive?determination/scoring?coaching?depth? special teams?toughness?grit?leadership?ethic? 9) The constant dealing with Florida and somehow we end up with damaged and somewhat overpriced goods (see Booth = injured, overvalued; Ballard = also injured, tough tranisition, still barely played; and even now Garrison= again also injured, tough start to season, although I'll give him more time to adjust but not off to a great start only thing I agree with is signing ballard GO CANUCKS GO let the haters hate
CB007
Back to the topic, the Ballard trade was the only one that I truly did not and still do not like. I would much rather have kept Bernier, Grabner and the 1st. Say what you will about Bernier he is still a big NHL bottom 6 forward who would've helped us in the SCF last year. Smashian Kassian
Alot of these are stupid and flat our wrong honestly. 1) Luongo/Schneider debacle since the playoffs and the fact he's still here (including the drama with McPhee and Nonis) 2) Malhotra decision (which appears he wants out but Gillis doesn't want him traded) 3) Inexplicable reason for putting Volpatti on waivers (and getting nothing for him in return; perhaps McPhee's way of accepting Gillis' apology)
Burlinbert
First of all before you put facepalms.. your first point is already wrong. NONIS gave us this beautiful goal tending duo. Gillis is the moron that can't do anything with it. We need to trade one of them. These 2 goalies are number 1's keeping them both is just terrible asset management not to mention the cap space. stawns
Nonis brought them here. Gillis kept them here. It was harder for Gillis to get them resigned and convince them both team be team first players.
