[Proposal] Spend the money NOW!

Ugh...

1-Splitting up the Sedins this way isn't going to do anything. Henrik will be the first line center.

2-Jensen will not be on the 4th line, he'll be in the top 6 (maybe even 9) on Vancouver or the first line in Utica. Hansen does sure as hell not deserve the second line over Kassian. Also, signing Stastny suggests you want to make this a good team, but yet it still sucks.

3-Tanev is a much better top 4 than Sbisa.

4-4th or 5th in the west are you kidding me? That lineup will miss the playoffs, unless the Sedins become above PPG (I'd be really happy if they got 60 or 70 points again) or Jensen/Kassian has a really big breakout season. Besides, conference standings aren't even relevant anymore, except for the Wild Card anyways.

5-Get over it, the Sedins are retiring here. There's no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

Okay here we go... You do bring some valid points though :

1)Splitting the Sedins isn't that big of a deal. They're too slow when playing together for 1st line players, we saw it last year and surrounding them with speed and young forwards helps.. that Burrows-Hank-Jensen line was pretty darn good.

2)I agree with kassian being better and I'll fix that. But you see how I put Jensen on the top 6 and the 4th.. it's because he can switch around the top and bottom to relieve some pressure in a full 82 games schedule in the NHL. And this is a good team with Stastny it has depth all around, you are one of those kind of people who are just negative as hell when their team has a bad season but the first to say I told ya so when things turn around...no different then media who will be the first to said we predicted this bounce back.

3)just feel like Sbisa will have better chemistry with Elder and Benning said he was Garrisons replacement who was a top 4 D.

4) Yes 4th or 5th in the West this teams depth with this lineup is underestimated don't forget there's prospects that can step in and out too. But no doubt in my mind this will be a bounce back season message me when it's all said and done.

5) It's the NHL, a business, I'm sure Flames fans thought that Iggy was retiring as a Flame too but moves happen all the time. And Benning isn't afraid to make those moves unlike Gillis.

Thanks for your response, and my apologies for bad grammar this was typed off a phone.

1) Fair enough. Still, Henrik>Daniel.

2) The bottom 6 looks good, but I don't have much confidence in that top 6. I expect the Sedins to bounce back, but I don't think Burrows, Higgins, & Kassian/Jensen will be able to hold it down well enough.

5) The only way the Sedins will be moved is if we still suck in 4 years and then they may be given a cup chance. Players like that are rarely traded, usually sign a one or two year deal with a cup contender. Besides, they're needed here for leadership and to help take pressure off the rookies.

LOL why not? I know you were just dying to post that picture on someone's proposal, so without even reading you decided to post it because you couldn't resist :bigblush:

Why not? There are a few good reasons, but I'll just leave you with one very good one: connor_mcdavid.jpg

The team that gets McDavid is keeping McDavid. The only time I can remember a player of his calibre being traded at a young age was Eric Lindros, who was only traded because he refused to play for Quebec. Even with their hands tied, the Nordiques still managed to get Peter Forsberg, Ron Hextall, Chris Simon, Mike Ricci, Kerry Huffman, Steve Duchesne, two first round draft picks and $15 million cash (back when you could do that).

McDavid's talent level will be somewhere in the Tavares to Crosby range (possibly better). He's so good that Buffalo is clearly tanking to get him. They want to finish last just to give themselves the best chance. Look at them.

You can't trade for the first overall, you need to win the lottery. The best we could do is try to accumulate first rounders now in hopes that the teams that give them to use collapse.
