Dave Lowry named Canadian world junior coach

Recommended Posts

Dave Lowry , former Canuck, coach of the WHL Victoria Royals, is the new coach of the Canadian world junior team.

Do you think this will affect canucks prospects making the team and how much ice time they get?

Last years team, with the QMJHL coach, some people were complaining about Jake virtanens usage and ice time.

I'm interested to hear CDCs opinions.

Discuss.

He's good at getting this team to compete hard every night. Expect a lot of emphasis on 2 way play and some solid team toughness. I think Virt will be a hit with him.

That's what I was hoping to here.

Also He gets to see What Jake can do on a regular basis coaching in the WHL.

Do you think he has any canucks ties and if so might he look favourably on McCann?

McCann strikes me as a similar type of player as Magee, who is a key player on the Royals. As long as he competes hard, Lowry should like him.
