  1. Funny thing is when I first read your " society giving them crap left and right", my first reaction was "society doesn't actually give a crap".
  2. Shit we really were hopeless against the Cali teams...
  3. Ha. This is such a Linden thing to do. Did Gillis do his round when he was hired?
  4. They weren't gonna tell Farhan they want Torts gone, even if they want it.
  5. No Torts unless he is willing to roll 4 lines. By my projection, our 4 line next year, when everyone is healthy, should be Mattias, Jensen and Hansen, Or Booth instead of Jensen, depends on who is scoring less goals. Regardless that's a 14 minute / game line. And Yes Trotz would be great.
  6. Torres and Mitchell... facepalm.... and Ballard... double facepalm....
  7. The twins need to play their game. And their game. And their game. And their game some more.
  8. We have the forwards. Kesler, Kassian, Higgins, Hansen, Booth, Mattias and Sestito and some AHL call ups together is a force to be reckon with. But our best Dmen also happen to be our smallest ones, which don't do well against teams with plenty of guys like Brown and Burns.
  9. Nah I want game 6 as well. This is too entertaining. Still want SJS to win the series though.
  10. And imagine the Canucks playing one of these two teams? We need guys like Booth, Kassian, Hansen, Kesler and Mattias to go on beast mode to have a chance of putting up with the physical play. Hamhuis and Tanev might be good but they just aren't big enough to put up with these F&%kers.
  11. I definitely want this to go 7 games. GO KINGS for the next 2 games. Then game 7 go SJS.
  12. Might've been said already but I want this series to go 7 games with lots of OT and lots of injuries so whoever wins won't get past 2nd round.
  13. You don't get to allow or not allow anybody to do anything. We live in a free democracy. Nobody needs your permission or anybody's permission to build parallel societies or parallel universes or parallel anything. That is the real Canadian society. You as well as I and everybody chooses to do whatever they want as long as they obey the rules and laws, and aren't hurting anybody. If P&G, or any business, decides to put an ad in your neighbourhood that you can't read, they are fully entitled to do so. It is silly to completely ignore your purchasing power, but it is their right.
  14. Not really... to do what he did is to admit that he has a small member.
  15. Yes, and they deem that Chinese only ads in Richmond will make them more profits. They have the demographic data to support the campaign, I'm sure. For them, it is no different then 'Vancouver Pizza' back in SCF 2011. Companies kissing consumers asses for profits.
  16. I just feel it is wrong to turn this business and ads language issue into a cultural integration issue. Business signs catering to a minority group is not an indication of that minority group refusing or unable to adapt to the pre-existing culture. Rather, it is just an indication of that group's economic influence. Companies kissing asses, essentially. We can say that P&G is insensitive to a broader market/culture, but that is in no way an indication of the minority group's attitude towards the broader, pre-existing culture.
  17. Of course, of course. But there are still lots of English only signs in Richmond, I assume, right?
  18. Culture, of which advertising and language is part of, is a reflection of the population living in that region. P&G's ad, along with other Chinese only ads in Richmond only reflects the population's makeup and its purchasing power. This is all pretty natural and organic. It's not like you have a Chinese only ad in say Prince Albert, SK where there are no Chinese people. Culture should not be imposed by the government with language laws and such. Though I do think it is the responsibility of advertisers to be more sensitive to a broader market, especially a conglomerate like P&G.
  19. 1) No govt is bending over for anybody. 2) Crest (Procter & Gamble?) is to be blamed for this, not anyone else.
  20. Don't think they were talking about languages on ads. Those countries' problems had a lot more to do with economic opportunities than language rights.
  21. Advertisers can do what they want but they should be a bit more sensitive to the needs of the English speaking market in this country.
