I think our prospects that can win faceoffs will have a bit of edge come summer. I just have a hunch that Gauncer may be the next rookie to crack the lineup. So many capable bodies these days coming up. Whos to know. Would like to see Jake burying puck with a Canucks jersey on though. I excluded Vey and Cheeser. Think at the very least they both have worked themselves out of the prospect realm.
Your profile pic is incredible.

Watches? Hes a star baby.
Sven BARschi
-
Now I'm also an advocate of letting Baertschi styaing down in the AHL, but imagine if we really did play Calgary in the playoffs and Sven gets called up to score a game willing goal? Or better yet, the game winning series?
Wouldn't that be something?
obviously it would. Let's not get too ahead of ourselves here boys

im surprised people dont realize eriksson was promised starting time in utica, if we dont make a trade we will lose a good young goalie
If we DO make a trade we lose a good young goalie.

Shutout for Demko, book it
^^^ We got a Canadian over here tryin to jinx it ^^^

Here's the Virtanen scrum. Recorded this off of the TSN website so I don't have a shift compilation in this quality.

Holy **** Virtanen looked PISSED. Attaboy Jake!

way to go Virtanen!!!!

gaunce is 30 and bald and plays for ducks no way thats crazy
I lol'd +1 for sure
-
Aka don't be Coho
Cody was a completly different prospect with different traits.
-
So much attention on Shinks and BH that Gaunce has been forgotten. He played well at camp and didn't look out of place. His skating is not an issue, as some have suggested. I have no doubts that he will see quite a bit of time with the big club during the season and possibly make the team around trade deadline. I think he gets the 4C spot
I think you're right, can't wait to see him!

Are you sure Horvat wouldn't be there to fight? Haven't you seen is summer selfie all ripped up. Jeez, download the sarcasm App, it'll help you identify them. I just said right after my comment, "But seriously"
Anyway you can insult my "asset management" all you want, yours is to keep the status quo, with the only change replacing Kesler by Bonino and Vrbata. Good idea, let's keep the same roster as the one that finished 25th in the league.
You really need to specify that Hansen is more talented than Sestito? D'uh!!! He also cost 2.5M for the next 3-4 years. And you suggest putting him on the 4th or the extra forward. Wow, that's awesome asset/money management.
Hansen could actually fetch a decent return, which could help us acquiring future asset at the deadline or move up the draft or have a decent pick.
Jensen is a projected top 6 player. It's not about pushing Kassian down the depth chart, Kassian is more versatile, can play up and down the line-up, where as Jensen is purely an offensive player. He need to be put in an offensive situation. They would probably end up with similar icetime, specially if Kassian plays with Higgins. Also ideally, you wouldn't put Horvat and Jensen on the same line, hence why I put the two rookies with veteran players.
Wow big deal Richardson won 55% of his faceoff last year. The four previous year with LA he was 48, 58, 50 and 48%. When you have a guy like Manny who consistenly win 60-65% of his face-off....THEN you have an asset, Richardson is average at best. You really think a 29years old with a career high of 27 points back in 2010 is "DEFINITLY" going to get picked up and is that much important for our team?. Wow no wonder there is so many conspiracy theorist on CDC, people actually think all of our roster are "irreplaceable" and wonder how could we finish 25th with such a loaded team LOL.
Chill out there bud, eh?

look what we've had to work with in the past years.
Rodin
Schroeder
Sauve
Rai
Not pretty. Who can develop that
Prab Rai was in an accident...
-
Tanev + 6th + 36th/schroeder/cederholm is the most I would go.
-
I heard at the combine the Canucks scouts didn't even interview Ehlers or Nylander. Kind of disappointing by that, seems that we aren't interested in them at all.
-
One scenario I could see playing out would be us trading up to land Ekblad or Reinhart with our 6th + depth players for FLAs 1st and then us flipping Kesler to ANA for the 10th overall and us drafting either Virtanen or Perlini. (Virtanen just had shoulder surgery and will be out until mid Oct. So he probably wont attend the combine thus potentially dropping his drafting position.)
Just something I could see happening. I definitely think there is a log jam at our d as well and one of our veteran players will likely be moved. I could see Ekblad being our Chara. not as big but an impact franchise d man. The only thing I hope is we dont get rid of Shinkaruk. He is my fav player in our system and the only player I have been truly excited about in a long time.
Be nice to land Ekblad @ #1st and Virtanen @ #10th. :D
One can dream. Just a scenario I could see materializing.
That would be a scenareo where I would weep manly tears of joy.

Lol, Thanks, at least someone here reads!

Well not a ton of players develop into stars after the top of the first round, its more of a crap shoot, but....
Here is a list of some of our undrafted signings and later round signings.
Its as good as any other teams and better than most.
There are 30 teams in the league why don't you pick out your 5 favorites and give us a list of their later round picks.
I am telling you there is nothing wrong with our scouts.
The only thing wrong here is the crybabies that call themselves fans.
Alex Burrows
Eddie Lack
Jannik Hansen
Alexander Edler
Mason Raymond
Kevin Connauton
Peter Andersson
Joe Cannata
Frankie Corrado
Jordan Subban
Cole Cassels
Dane Fox
Mike Brown
Cheers
Go Canucks
Those are all players who were not first rounders! Nice! I don't know why I decided to reply or quote you, must have said something stupid and then edited the comment to cover the fact that I made a post that embarrased myself. Neat!

Fox Horvat Kassian .. could cause problems if all three make the jump and become legit top 6 players. chances could be slim but heck one can dream that all three become very good/elite NHLers
The only true longshot of those three is Fox, Kassian should have a breakout season very soon and Horvat has all the tools to be a bonafide stud. Fox however, has strongly inflated numbers coming from PP (Which is lucky for him cause thats exactly what we need( and playing with CMD, hailed as the next big thing. I don't know, Fox just seems to me like he's not all there in the head, so I have trouble expecting him to be what we're all hoping him to be.

112 pages for 2 months is impressive.

You know Islanders draft 5th right? Good chance they take Dal Colle since they dont have any LW in the system
leaving us with someone from the top 5. Any of the top 5 would be a gift.
-
I think we have a chance to get someone ranked in the top 5 because its most likely that Calgary drafts Ritchie because hes a home-town boy.
They passed Shinkaruk (also a hometown boy) 2 times last year... Yeah, not happening.
-
What do you guys think about Kesler+Hansen+5th Round for 1st overall+3rd Round so we have 1st and 6th
then take:
1st-Aaron Ekblad
And then if anyone from 2-5 falls take them or take:
6th-Nick Ritchie
Thoughts?
I'd enjoy it for the fact that we could get Ekblad and lose Kesler, but I don't think it's gonna happen.

agile skater with leadership qualities and a good pass but a weak shot and lacking physical play. Frustrating. Wish we could have traded down and picked up Dunn.
