They are DONE for the season ! Will be bloody surprised if they even make the p/offs, which they don't deserve to. They have all turned into journeyman players skating around like headless chicken ! I think they all want to be traded out of Vancouver.

Im happy stantons back, but i feel like weber has shown he can definitely be a bottom pair defensemen
I've been really happy with Weber's play. Especially during the Calgary game, he was the difference-maker.

So...Horvat has turned into Hodgson somehow?
Aside from a similar skating style and slick passing they are quite a bit different really.
Horvat's extra 15 Lbs. should help him make a quick transition to the NHL and help him stay on the ice and not get banged up as easy as Hodgy.
Hodgson is not a bad player. As long as he want's to stay, we're good.

Here's hoping David Booth took the time this holiday to stay in shape and not eat too much moose meat or keep his head in the clouds.

Basically, if any player tries to gain an unfair advantage in the face-off circle (not necessarily the guy taking the face-off) then your face-off taker gets tossed out.
Here's the official explanation from the NHL...
In theory, a defenseman could take his place, but defensemen don't normally practice taking face-offs, so they aren't very good at it.
Found out tonight that D-men occasionally DO take faceoffs. Jay Bowmeester was 1 for 2 on faceoff attempts. I believe it most often happens when the center gets thrown out of a faceoff when the team has 3 skaters in a 5 on 3 or 4 on 3 situation. Just an update!

Might sound pretty basic/lame but I don't know any real hockey fans. What are the rules of faceoffs? Why do centers get thrown out and a winger has to take their place? Also, how often to defencemen take draws? Thanks y'all!

We need to be in a position where Santorelli is permanent on a 3rd line. Expecting him to be a top 6 is not realistic and not good enough.
Maybe in a perfectly healthy roster, but when we don't have Burr or Schroeder that's the best we got.

For anyone saying that we will have a hard time replacing his 0 goals, you gotta remember who we're talking about. This is the guy that slayed the dragon, Mr. Clutch himself. While he has had trouble actually putting one in the net (Maybe trouble is too soft a term) but the guy BRINGS it. He is out there wearing down the other team and that kind of enthusiasm has to rub off on the rest of the team. Gonna miss him for the time he's gone, hope he makes a speedy recovery!
