though i agree with your point in response to that paragraph..

it really does not apply to what we saw today

i think there are serious concerns raised in the testimony before the senate

which warrants the spending of some additional time and resources

before requiring a vote on the suitability of this nominee

the deadline being proposed is entirely artificial

and is being imposed for political purposes

and not to ensure that this nominee is truly acceptable

the present deadline makes this whole process feel like it is being railroaded

The whole case is for political purposes

Why. I think he will turn out to be a steal . Ur comment contradicts itself . We can use a right hand d with offensive upside , but it not a fan of the pick ?

We traded for Leipsic. We don't need McLeod as much as a kid like Woo. Even though Leipsic is not a centre , he brings the same skill set imo.

The kid oozes character,  and is exactly the kind of d man we should have been looking at after drafting Hughes .

Whatever . To each their own I guess.

I’m not a big fan only because I really like McLeod; hence why I’m open to see how he turns out.  I’m not against the pick by any means.

I don’t believe you should draft for what you need instead of taking the best player available.  I think McLeod has very good potential to be an impact player.  You can never have too much talent as you have no idea what’s happening in the future.  Heck Defence used to be our position of strength now its our weakness in a very short period of time.  Things and needs change all the time.  Best player available is the best way to draft.

I hope Woo turns out, I’m just not sure what his ceiling will be

  3. Not a huge fan of this pick, but we’ll find out.  We definitely could use a good two way right handed D with some offensive upside like Woo.  However I really like Ryan McLeod who just went to Edmonton

Virtanen is a team guy but your right he's not a leader at all...

A friend of mine saw him buying beer pong supplies at Walmart, he's taking his off season very serious it seems

  5. Ugh... good prospect, but I still would've tried to add another skater rather than a G.  Demko is a better prospect at face value, so I don't think it's a priority.  Great goalie prospect though, huge in the memorial cup

The knock on him is his passing. Kind of like Virtanen without the elite skating.

I still think it's a terrific pick though. Very high ceiling, and can still make it as a grinder

Except he's a team first guy and a leader

  7. Really excited about this pick, hopefully he can work on his skating.  Most goals by a draft eligible player in the OHL.  Say his ceiling is Jeff Carter

  8. Hague and Ratcliffe are definite considerations. Both are huge, both are talented, both are what we need and what we can use.

Please no goalies today, I know we want prospects but we have more than enough depth in net for a year to pass.  Time to stock the cupboards with some players, especially in round 2 and 3.

Not nearly enough skill?  Sedins, Horvat, Eriksson, Sutter, Baer, Boeser, all have no skill?

Moving forward only 1 or 2 of those likely have the ability of scoring 30+ goals a year, and only two are 70+ point players; only 3 of those are apart of our future.  So yes, we are lacking skill, especially since none of them are bonafide top line players, with only Boeser and Horvat have the potential to turn into one.

As I said we are getting skill and will keep getting and developing skill.

Goldobin, Dahlen, Boeser. We will also be getting our next best prospect this upcoming draft.

After that I won't be surprised if we used other picks and next year for skill as well.

Look up and down are current lineup. We don't have any guys, particularly upfront, that goes out and plays a physical hard nosed game. None of our forwards brings the type of presence that keeps the opponents heads up and honest. The only guy we have that keeps people honest is Gubranson and he isn't the type of player that will frustrate opponents physically.

I am not saying go out and spend our 1st on some meat and potatoes, we've done that. Neither am I saying go out and spend big on someone that does. I am saying add more to our bottom 6. Beef up this team so that our youth will be protected and in a better environment to develop. We aren't going to be scoring until the kids we have(and get) grow but we can make sure opponents don't intimidate us as much as they've been able to.

I agree with you, except our toughness can be found in Grenier, Labate, Gaunce, Dorsett.  The problem is the team employs Skille, Megna, Chaput etc.

We need size and toughness now just as much as in the future. Win or lose we need to bring about more a physical presence in games because as it stands now we are an easy team to play against physically.

We don't have nearly enough skill to do anything significant besides having a lottery pick.  I don't think we have even hit rock bottom yet.

Shocks me that people can't allow themselves to see the positive. When Eriksson was signed, it wasn't hard to see that this combo would be a winner. There's no better scenario for the Sedins for the next two seasons as far as chemistry goes. And now we're seeing it play out.

Instead of looking for something to be concerned about, enjoy what we have in this line. It's positive.

I think fans are just concerned about when the Sedins retire and we have Eriksson another few years at 6 million when his best days are behind him.  I guess we'll deal with it when it happens
