  1. Oh you mean when the leadership had real values, morals and ethics? True colors of people usually come out during adversity. I used to have rugby coach who would say," Adversity doesn't give you character, it reveals your character" How true....
  2. You're mathing wrong. You mean that he never got an "A" or "B" in math!
  3. * Half of us are going to come out of this quarantine as amazing cooks. The other half will come out with a drinking problem. * I used to spin that toilet paper like I was on Wheel of Fortune. Now I turn it like I'm cracking a safe. * I need to practice social-distancing from the refrigerator. * Still haven't decided where to go for Easter ----- The Living Room or The Bedroom * PSA: every few days try your jeans on just to make sure they fit. Pajamas will have you believe all is well in the kingdom. * Homeschooling is going well. 2 students suspended for fighting and 1 teacher fired for drinking on the job. * I don't think anyone expected that when we changed the clocks we'd go from Standard Time to the Twilight Zone! * This morning I saw a neighbor talking to her cat. It was obvious she thought her cat understood her. I came into my house, told my dog..... we laughed a lot. * So, after this quarantine.....will the producers of My 600 Pound Life just find me or do I find them? * Quarantine Day 5: Went to this restaurant called THE KITCHEN. You have to gather all the ingredients and make your own meal. I have no clue how this place is still in business. * My body has absorbed so much soap and disinfectant lately that when I pee it cleans the toilet. * Day 5 of Homeschooling: One of these little monsters called in a bomb threat. * I'm so excited --- it's time to take out the garbage. What should I wear? * I hope the weather is good tomorrow for my trip to Puerto Backyarda. I'm getting tired of Los Livingroom. * Classified Ad: Single man with toilet paper seeks woman with hand sanitizer for good clean fun. * Day 6 of Homeschooling: My child just said "I hope I don't have the same teacher next year".... I'm offended. * Better 6 feet apart than 6 feet under
  4. Just make sure you have "Social driving" distancing. 6 seconds between cars!!
  5. That is about a smoot + 3 ears.
  6. I wonder if car crash fatalities are going down as we aren't driving as much.
  7. Who said this? Why is it in quotation marks? Sorry, It was a quote off another posting. I'm an old fart, and I didn't know how (until now) to get a quote properly. I'll go and do 50 push ups!
  8. "Freeland must be close to having a stroke. I do think she'll be able to navigate us through this but I might take up religion and start praying for Trump to have a heart attack." Or start poking needles in a Trump doll"
  9. A suggestion for people looking for something to do. Try researching something interesting on the internet. Of course, remember it is the internet, and you have to be careful about what is true or not. I am currently writing a course on the "History of Math" so I am researching the megalithic builders of Stonehenge, the Giza Pyramids, Mayan pyramids, Amazon pyramids and mounds AND the huge number of mounds along the Mississippi. These people were incredibly smart, knew the size of the Earth, had some knowledge of longitude (long before Harrison's clock around 1780), and knew about the precession of the equinoxes. Also, it is a good time to explore your family tree, etc. In other words, there is a world of information out there, now is the time to explore that.
  10. Cumming, Georgia could be Going soon....
  11. Report post Posted 1 minute ago To be fair, I never take spelling police seriously either. We're here to talk, not have a spelling bee. That's my opinion anyway. Otherwise, we could really go to town on everyone's grammar. Please leave my Grammar out of this, She is with Grandpa!
  12. All of the BC Math courses for grade 10 to 12, except Calculus can be found FREE for as long as this carries on at: http://studymatrix.net/ The site is being put up by the company free for teachers and students. I have used this in my classes. Very good videos (interactive), exercises and quizzes. Hope this helps.
  13. I am noticing that more and more posters use to instead of too. It seems that Trump supporters are exporting their English language skills to Canada. Here is a legal sentence in the right order. Punctuate it properly to have it make sense: (Yes there are 11 "hads" in a row) John while James had had had had had had had had had had had a better effect of the teacher
  14. Trump is on right now, 2:15 PM. He is saying how many people they have tested. Then he goes on to say that this is "More than anyone else, by far". It may be, by why does he have to make it a contest every time.
  15. OMG. Trump has just come on and accused the health workers of hoarding medical supplies, or selling them out the back door. He says that's probably why they are so short of supplies.
  16. Some stores are allowing seniors and people who need help to go in early, like 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM. Shelves are all stocked. Harmac Mill in Nanaimo has ramped up ots production of fibre that make s TP.
  17. I hear that they were starting up rugby teams, a little while ago, in Haida Gwaii. That means that it could become the second most favourite sport in Haida Gwaii. "What is the most favourite sport in Haida Gwaii", you ask? Scroll down Why Haida Go Seek, of course!
  18. Parents looking for some learning things for your secondary school kids: I just downloaded from the app store, onto my iPad, a FREE app from Texas-Instruments that gives the student a FREE graphing calculator for 6 months. It comes with learning lessons for how to use it. For many math courses in BC over Math 10, this is a calculator that shows up in textbooks and is used in the classroom as many classes have class sets of them.
  19. I was on a long line at 7:45 am today at the grocery store that opened at 8 for seniors only. A young man came from the parking lot and tried to cut in at the front of the line, but an old lady beat him back into the parking lot with her cane. He returned and tried to cut in again but an old man punched him in the gut, then kicked him to the ground and rolled him away. As he approached the line for the 3rd time he said, "If you don't let me unlock the door, you'll never get in there.
  20. I'm thinking, millions in the Americas at 1491 CE. Suddenly, Europeans arrive, bringing with them new epidemics. Within about 20 years, 90% of the Americans are dead. Now that is an epidemic.
  21. Also, I figured by now the US Republicans haven't noticed that the word "pandemic" is actually an anagram for "dem panic". Certainly the flippant way they have treated this I would not be surprised if it surfaced on Fox News.
  22. If the Queen gets the virus from Prince Charles, do they rename it "Crown-avirus"??
  23. I'm an over 70 person staying at home. I am researching and writing a new Math course for BC students. I wonder what some 30 or some age person is doing at home. Is he/she learning, reading, doing something useful, or just crashing. A person earlier said that if I was needing a ventilator and a 30 something was needing a ventilator, it should be going to the 30 year old. Do you know what? I agree with them. I lost my wife recently and I do not fear death (I just get to see her again quicker), and the 30 year old has their whole life in front of them. Take my ventilator. Meanwhile I hope that I can finish this course before I'm out of here!!
  24. If you get really depressed about all of this, then go to Google and type in "Flash mobs". It gets you back to seeing the positives we have in this world. Mind you, you couldn't do much of a flash mob now with social distancing and stores closed. But it is a good escape.
  25. Maybe it was, "Pot in every chicken"!
