    remember actual American leadership?

Oh you mean when the leadership had real values, morals and ethics? ::D True colors of people usually come out during adversity.

I used to have rugby coach who would say," Adversity doesn't give you character, it reveals your character" How true....

Does anyone know if we can go for drives or not? Thinking about just crushing around for something to do.

Not planning on getting out and coughing etc.

    Thanks.

Just make sure you have "Social driving" distancing. 6 seconds between cars!!

"Freeland must be close to having a stroke. I do think she'll be able to navigate us through this but I might take up religion and start praying for Trump to have a heart attack."

Or start poking needles in a Trump doll"

    Who said this?

Why is it in quotation marks?

Sorry, It was a quote off another posting. I'm an old fart, and I didn't know how (until now) to get a quote properly. I'll go and do 50 push ups!

  5. A suggestion for people looking for something to do. Try researching something interesting on the internet. Of course, remember it is the internet, and you have to be careful about what is true or not. I am currently writing a course on the "History of Math" so I am researching the megalithic builders of Stonehenge, the Giza Pyramids, Mayan pyramids, Amazon pyramids and mounds AND the huge number of mounds along the Mississippi. These people were incredibly smart, knew the size of the Earth, had some knowledge of longitude (long before Harrison's clock around 1780), and knew about the precession of the equinoxes. Also, it is a good time to explore your family tree, etc. In other words, there is a world of information out there, now is the time to explore that.

If you knew how to spell buffoons, I would take you more seriously.

To be fair, I never take spelling police seriously either. ;)

We're here to talk, not have a spelling bee. That's my opinion anyway.

Otherwise, we could really go to town on everyone's grammar.

Please leave my Grammar out of this, She is with Grandpa!

  6. I am noticing that more and more posters use to instead of too.

It seems that Trump supporters are exporting their English language skills to Canada.

Here is a legal sentence in the right order. Punctuate it properly to have it make sense: (Yes there are 11 "hads" in a row)

John while James had had had had had had had had had had had a better effect of the teacher

  7. I hear that they were starting up rugby teams, a little while ago, in Haida Gwaii. That means that it could become the second most favourite sport in Haida Gwaii.

"What is the most favourite sport in Haida Gwaii", you ask?  Scroll down

Why Haida Go Seek, of course!

  8. Parents looking for some learning things for your secondary school kids: I just downloaded from the app store, onto my iPad, a FREE app from Texas-Instruments that gives the student a FREE graphing calculator for 6 months. It comes with learning lessons for how to use it.  For many math courses in BC over Math 10, this is a calculator that shows up in textbooks and is used in the classroom as many classes have class sets of them.

  9. Also, I figured by now the US Republicans haven't noticed that the word "pandemic" is actually an anagram for "dem panic".  Certainly the flippant way they have treated this I would not be surprised if it surfaced on Fox News.

  10. If you get really depressed about all of this, then go to Google and type in "Flash mobs". It gets you back to seeing the positives we have in this world. Mind you, you couldn't do much of a flash mob now with social distancing and stores closed. But it is a good escape.
