Better passing, and more multiple shot attempts when entering the offensive zone please. Also, since I am NOT a hockey player, but have watched hockey for about 60 years, when the Penalty Kill players play really high to stop the passes between Boeser, Hughes and Petterson, does that not open up something down lower? Thanks for any replies as I really would like to know.

I hope the Canucks are crisper with their passing tonight, AND that they get more than one shot every time that they come into the offensive end. Too many one shot and outs lately.

A worrying thing I see is happening in Canuck games. They miss a lot of passes, maybe they are trying to stretch things a bit too much. Also, they have seem to be able to get only one shot away, and then the puck is lost and brought out. They have not been good at getting sustained pressure in the offensive zone and multiple shots away. The Sedins were able to get the sustained pressure, but did not shoot enough. Hope things turn around on both of these things.

Speaking of self-control. Did you see the France versus Wales quarter finals in the Rugby World Cup. France was playing fantastic, then just before half time a French forward had no self-control and elbowed a Welsh player right in the head. Red Card. France down to only fourteen players for the whole second half. They had been winning 19-10 at this point. Final score, virtually on the last play of the game, France, still at 19, Wales 20. At top level sports, including NHL hockey, you can play "tough" without playing "dumb" by losing control.

Make sure that you don't have blinders on. Sure, Sutton did not look good at all in this clip. However, McDavid did split the defense of Edler and Quinn Hughes to score.

I had put a post onto Wikipedia about a new calendar system I had invented (see Loutetian Calendar on Youtube). I thought it was an interesting and useful new calendar, but the post was taken down within a day. Ho-hum, I guess the world was not ready for it!

I once went to a boxing match and a hockey game broke out... Sorry, not a fan of fighting in any sport.

It is October 1st, 2021. Make a guess what the starting lineup might be. Maybe throw in a couple of Russians, and maybe some unknown players we trade or draft between now and then (call them "X-Men"), and see what we might come up with in two years time.

I started teaching in Vancouver in 1970. The Canucks started in Vancouver in 1970. I vowed to keep teaching until the Canucls won the Stanley Cup. I'll be 72 in a few months, and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! I can retire in 2023!!!

Take a look at this scenario: Three of four people on a spreadsheet, filled with data about all the contracts, all future salaries, data on player availability, input from a very good scouting team, potential look at who may be available in the 2020 and 2021 drafts, and their jobs on the line! They have 8, 10 hours a day to analyze, get in touch with GM's, decide what strategies will work. They do this full time! They aren't some armchair GM who works 8 hours a day at a job, comes home, talks to the kids, helps them with their homework, puts them to bed, talks to his spouse, and then goes on to internet and makes huge decisions, thinking about it for 15 minutes. Who is going to make the right decisions?

Last game we had at least 9 clearing passes from the defense to a forward near the the centre that were missed even being touched and then went on to be called icing. Poor passing is not helping this team.
