  1. Interesting about the countries that have banded together to raise $11 billion to find a vaccine. Canada has said they will send about $850 million (I think). However, the United States has NOT joined this consortium. Comments?

  2. Was watching an episode of "The Last Kingdom" on Netflix last night. It would have been filmed probably a year ago. In it, a pandemic is sweeping the country and people are closing fort walls on others to keep themselves safe from the "Disease". Eerily similar to now.

  3. If wearing an ordinary mask (not the in hospital type of mask) is more for the safety of others than for yourself, then if someone had a mask that had written "I am wearing this mask for YOUR safety" on it, then it might shame others into wearing a mask too.

  4. Sometimes I think people are too paranoid. In fact there isn't just a "pair of" noids, there are three noids (trianoid ?) or four noids (quadrinoid ?). Give me one good reason for any ordinary Joe  (non-military or non-police) to own an assault rifle. One!

his is something that I have thought about as well as I have seen images being posted online. You can get way more hits by from a picture by sensationalizing it. Its easy to create the illusion that people are being dangerously reckless, when in actuality they are following guidelines.

The same type of "Fake Images" can happen with how, or what part of, a graph is shown.

My dog is named Tess, not named after T.E.S.S. the satellite

My Mom, who hated cats (because she loved birds) was name "Tess". We got a cat already named Leslie Winkle (after Big Bang Theory). Not wanting to call her Leslie, she became "Tessly". I hope my mom (in heaven), is not offended.

So, we get bombarded by messages for junk food and barely any for the Canada Food plan.

One thing I have never understood. You can get some income tax deductions for medical procedures, so why can't you get income tax deductions for signing up for, and being successful at, weight loss plans, gym training, and son on?

  8. I had a friend who thought that we were given only so many heartbeats in our lifetime, different for every person. For that reason, he never jogged for he thought that he was using up his heartbeats quicker. Whereas sleeping used up fewest heartbeats. LOL.

Depressed people can feel socially isolated in the middle of a busy food court.

Thanks Deb. Since I lost my wife to cancer, just over two years ago, I know what being alone is like. You can go out, go to a movie, go ti a concert, go to a shopping mall (this is pre-COVID019) AND still feel absolutely alone because you have no one to share it with!

If he could change his middle name to God, he would.

Actually Donald Trump's middle name is "John", which makes his name really close to  "Don Juan" Trump. Maybe he has been trying to live up to that name. He subliminally does by wearing a long tie that seems to be pointing at something below his belt!!

  11. Most university, college and trade school students are there because they see the use for the courses they are taking. They have a vested interest in doing well, and keeping up. A tremendous number of students are taking courses because they have to, not necessarily because they see the use of it. I just got a Facebook memo from a student who I taught 20 years ago, and she still remembers learning the Pythagorean theorem from me as she was using it right now. However, when she was in my class she had no idea why she should know any of "this stuff". A lot of students in high school would not have the motivation to do a whole course online. There has been a lot written about the "flipped classroom" and that might be useful.

My friend homeschooled his kid K to 12 and that kid is now doctor here in BC

I have seen both sides of home schooled students. Some, fantastic, and fit into regular school with no problem. Others, with huge holes in their knowledge. I think that maybe the student might be strong in the things that the parent/home tutor was strong in.
