Ready to welcome a few new 'Nucks this weekend. I have confidence the scouts have done their jobs - here's hoping the hockey gods smile upon us. Keep it positive - these are kids we hope will develop into fine young men (who also happen to be really good at hockey). Saying this as a dad and billet. Go Canucks Go!

Anyone wants to see Seider - Germany playing GB atm. He just scored and has looked very poised in what has turned out to be a very tight game so far.

I was just about to respond about Broberg. He reminds me a lot of Edler, which wouldn't be bad, but he has this tantalizing upside. He could really be special. Tough choices at 10 and I suspect the brass won't even know their options til after the 9th selection.

I think they're trying to be respectful and allow the team to build/establish their own, new identity. Didn't see much of the ASG as I'm at a hockey tournament with my son, how did EP40 do? Would have like to have seen him in hardest shot competition lol

And yet, here we are. This was clearly retribution. Matheson was having a terrible game and had already been schooled numerous times. He might not be that type of player but it remains to be seen what response by the league will deter him from being a repeat offender.

Because it happens time and time again. I get the "context," but the reasons for the summer signings and for Guddy were to prevent this type of thing from happening and to deter it from happening in the future. Nothing took place on Saturday - what message does that send? Vets need to stand up for the kids regardless of who they are or what role they have on the ice.

Missed the game - how did Matheson manage to leave the game under his own power? Embarrassing. What were all of these summer signings about when this type of play is allowed to go unchecked?

Thought he played a strong game last night. AHL is probably where he should be to start the season but sucks to see him leave camp.

So - looking forward to my first Canucks game with my son this fall. Got on to the early single-game tickets list. Went on half hour after it opened and the only seats available for Bruins (Saturday game as we have to travel) were for over $600...Suggestions?
