    Detroit says no easy.

Trading Horvat would mean they’d want to compete sooner than later. Trading one of their best defenseman with no replacements readily available, especially when it’s a RD, would be counterproductive to wanting to compete.

Especially when he’s signed pretty cheap and is an RFA after. They pretty much set at RD.

If they lose Larkin, they're likely going backwards. The heavy lifting of their rebuild is over. Now they have to start to build a culture and need some vets. Horvat could replace Larkin and wear the C.  Give the team an identity going forward. If DET says no, they aren't getting Bo.

Friedman if I recall made it sound like a trade was on the horizon. Or at least implied there's some activity. Could be another mouth piece I can't remember sh*t. Could be the quiet before the storm. But yeah, things usually quiet down right before something happens. I really am not hoping for a re-sign given all the talk about him wanting to get paid. We can't afford 2 Millers, we can't even afford one. We have Petey and Hughes who are our defacto best players. They should be our highest paid.

If Horvat gets paid. That makes him and Miller our highest paid players. It'll suffocate our ability to sign role players. Horvat for a haul. Draft a really good center in the top 10. It's a good center draft. Might even get one with a late 1st rounder. Lookin' at Honzek. But I just don't think it's a good idea to keep running the same core with higher cap hits given the last 5 years have net the exact same underwhelming results with relatively affordable cap hits. Is this team better with both Horvat and Miller making 8mil when we sucked with them making 5mil? Logic doesn't track.

    I agree 100%

  3. They held off firing Bruce because our schedule is super favourable now, playing a lot of bottom 10 teams in the league. If they think us fans don't know what they are doing they don't know us that well. Toc will win us some games, with Demko coming back and management will say "see it was coaching" and continue to drag Bruce.

I for one will not stand for it. F this

    Spittin chicklets here :

    Rasmussen C/W & Hronek RD

(and maybe a 2nd rnd pick)

    for Horvat Schenn Rathbone Hoglander

(both Hronek and Seider are RFA ‘s in 2 seasons and both will want good contracts.highly doubt Seider moves)

Hronek is already 4 m , add that to their capspace  (5.8) they can talk a term contract with Horvat .

Matt Sekers said he'd have to think about Horvat+Lekerimaki for Shane Wright.

I wouldn't. That is a trade you jump on. Anyone disagree ?

Is that what Seattle wants ?

or was Sekers just throwing this out as a hypothetical of what it would take to get SEA to move on Wright?

    To New Jersey:

    Bo Horvat:

    To Vancouver:

    Alexander Holtz

    Michael McLeod

    Kevin Bahl

    2023 1st round pick

    This is a great proposal.

McLeod would be a great addition. I believe he is great on PK and FO. Can anyone confirm.. Going off of memory there.

Holtz is a perfect prospect who should be able to step in within a year or so.

Not sure Bahl ever makes it as a full time NHLer.

We get a 1st round pick in a deep draft. Going to get a good player there.

3 solid young assets for Horvat, let me drive him to YVR myself

Rick Tocchet is the new Mike Keenan.  He is being brought in to force some moves and get rid of certain players.  Once those players are gone I think they bring in Barry Trotz to lead us to the cup...

As long as they keep you happy Petey that's all I care about. You will lead us to Lord Stanley

That may be the plan right now. Get Tocchet in here ASAP. OEL then demands a trade in the summer. We trade OEL, fire Tocchet and then bring in our actual real coach, Barry Trotz.

    5D chess move by JR…

I don't know about the last half of your post but I think your first half is correct. JR is clear there are bad contracts on this team. Myers and Pearson only have 1 year left. Myers I believe you can move after July 1 (5 mill SB only 1 mill in actual salary) . Pearson and Poolman at this point look like they're on LTIR rest of their contracts. JR kept referencing these bad contracts but only really one is a big problem for us going forwards. Which is OEL. There were rumours in the summer they were looking to move him but OEL would turn everything down probably. As it was only the Canucks and Boston. Boston went and got Lindholm. So OEL doesn't want to go to anybody now. So what's the next step you take. How can you get a guy to move? Bring in the coach that made him leave ARI.

I have the upmost confidence in JR. Unlike most. Not even worried one bit, this guys a savage
