That’s not how it works lol In any business. You could have the greatest CEO. But if your direct manager is a chump (Green), things fall apart. We could all see that Miller was told by Green to play within his dictated rules. With the Boudreau hire, the frustrations of Miller overnight became a massive asset to the Canucks as they finally manifested themselves into unabashed passion.

Again, Gillis handicapped the team so immensely and failed so admirably to retool the Canucks, that it took until this year to pay out Luongo and rebuild the team into something remotely competitive. My mistake here was to support Green. But a Benning / Boudreau duo would’ve had the same effect as an Alvin / Boudreau team. The proof is in the fact that the Rutherford/ Alvin team didn’t make any moves concerning current players.

Miller is staying. Makes absolutely no sense to trade him. That is pure regression. If Horvat is the quiet leader of this team, then Miller is the loud leader of this team.
