If this was amateur sports (like the olympics),
But pro sports is a brand. Nobody can tell me that they're happy with decision but not happy with the bombardment of digital ads. The NHL has never sent us a message stronger than before: buy buy buy. But when it comes to supporting different causes, that seemingly crossed the line for an ignorant minority.
Ditch the jerseys, keep the gambling ads. Just perfect.
A small group of fans flipped their crap because they are ignorant bigots. When pressed on the matter, individuals like Jim Reimer exposed themselves for being completely ignorant of the situation. Ignore the reaction from others. He was talking complete nonsense. He brought the criticism onto himself.
Again, back to ads. You're okay with glitching boards, endless sports betting, but not okay with the league supporting social causes? Every jersey auction raised thousands of dollars for good causes and now it's getting snuffed out because a fringe group of haters spoke out.
Don't come at me with this "reject political correctness" nonsense. The most offended people were the snowflakes who couldn't handle a few rainbows being skated on the ice.
It’s sports though. Some of us go there or watch online to escape all the political crap in the world.
I am FOR all the special jersey causes and not AGAINST a single one. A couple of white knights took my original post and ran in odd directions with my intent.

You mean peripheral stuff like beer and food, correct?
Are you being wilfully obtuse? Please try to apply logic to any situation.
If you really wanna know, I do not consume alcohol as a personal choice and try to avoid the overpriced food offerings at sporting events.

I go to a sporting event to see the competition. Any peripheral fluff is just not necessary.
I believe you are being willfully blind. Carry on. Have a nice day.- 1

So you don’t have any issues with grandpas being afraid of rainbows being the reason all other jersey nights are no longer happening?

I think it was Harry Neale that said “AlMo is one of those special players that gives both teams a chance to win every night.”

It’s our Canuck’s home forum. Your opinions are contrary to us winning. It’s been pointed out repeatedly Hronek is a top pairing D and a number 1 on Detroit. The facts are he’s a great young right shot D who we stole from Yzerman.
Your opinions about this trade and pkayer are 100% wrong. How many missteps has Yzerman made as an exec? Maybe see how Hronek plays next season before we get too far ahead of ourselves.

The mental gymnastics that some are willing to commit to in order to view this move in a solely negative light is astounding.
Phill. The team has been hot garbage and barely watchable for over a decade.
It’s hard to be positive about this move unless one is happy the butt plug was lubed and not the biggest one in the toy store.

I looked in the mirror and said his name 3 times. Not scared one bit.

My initial dislike of the buyout does have a silver lining.
The absolute joy at sticking it to the Yote’s by tying up a buyout slot for 8 years at a negligible number slightly hampers their flexibility. They are Bettman’s baby. Screw that guy.

Bad management makes bad decision. Another reason to disengage from a franchise that has become a circus.

Don't bother with Alf, his schtick has become rather annoying tbh. Just makes me miss Apollo.
I actually miss Desi too.

TV had this thing called 'reruns' and 'syndication'. So you didn't have to be as old as dirt to watch old shows. That's where I learned about shows like "The Rifleman".
How do you think I learned about Kojak and Baretta? I was born the same year as the Canucks.

Perry Mason and Matlock were lawyers.
I’m not old enough for the seniors discount at Denny’s, how could I have known?

Language alone in that clip has me wondering why anyone would partner with them. If that’s the future let me off at the next stop.
Settle down boomer. Matlock has to be on somewhere.

So throw more of the future away to try and fix throwing the future away.
This team is run like a dog chasing.
Cue the experts that’ll justify it, oddly mostly the same ones that advocated signing Myers and the OEL trade. (Shocking)
bad enough they screwed them selves out of a top pick let’s go all in and get a long shot 1st rounder that might be nhl ready in 4 years.
Then they ask why don’t we have any good young prospects or depth at any position.
To funny.
Did something happen?

I like the earlier suggestion of starting the season earlier in that case. When I was a kid, teams played 77 games and that was more than enough.
I also think they could shorten the first round too, as they did in the early 80's
30 man rosters, 24 teams with 16 making the playoffs and playoffs same as now. A 64 game regular season would make the races pretty tight. Yeah. I’m a little stoned.

I’m not sure what Seattle’s prostitution laws are but they are in a progressive state. Whether she was being trafficked or not, it is extremely hard to know without information and it’s speculative at best. If Nichuskin went on a site like Leolist/Craigslist, unfortunately a lot of these women are being pimped out under the false impression they are being “protected”. In todays world, everything is done over the internet, and it’s quite possible he interacted with the “wrong” sex worker in the sense that she was being trafficked and on top of that she was heavily intoxicated.
Knowing the time period she was intoxicated for and the time Nichuskin first met up with her would solve a lot of questions. Knowing that there isn’t an active criminal investigation, there’s a good chance
1. he didn’t know she was being trafficked if she even was in the beginning and
2. There’s a good chance she was already intoxicated before he met up and not the other way around. This would rule out any type of “drugging” or non consensual activities had she met up with him sober and ended up being completely wasted.
Perhaps.
Perhaps she is in his little black book and they hook up every time he’s in town. They were hanging out, she went to the can for a couple of rails that he didn’t know about.

If you came home and the dog had shit on the floor would you piss and moan about it for days or clean it up and get on with your day? You’ve been singing the same sad song for months now.
Maybe disengaging from the team for a while will cheer you up.

I suspect the future Cup to be played for by the Toronto Pepsi’s vs the New York Coca Colas. It’s almost inevitable.
