I'm not much of a fancy stats guy but I can't help but notice that our DPISS (d-zone pass into skates) is currently only being surpassed by our GBO (garbage break out quotient)

Didn’t hear much from little Mitch and the porn stache these past two games. Props to the Horvat line, they did a hell of a job when matched up against them.

Not a knock on their play tonight, more a comment on their ability to score when we need it

I'm all for it, if tied or leading

note to Green. We are a goal down, less Beagle line please

The first couple of rounds we got to enjoy of the "covid cup" last summer were fun, but it was painfully obvious when we played a real contender that this teams core wasn't ready to push yet. Therefore, it made some sense to me when we cut Marky and Tanev loose with a goal in mind of being ready a year or two more down the road. That being said, 9 years for a GM to return a franchise in a Canadian market to competitiveness is going to put him in the crosshair's, regardless of the context (Sedin years, etc.). And I still can't believe we let Toffoli walk when you consider his age, and the price and term he ended up signing at.

I'm so done with Roussel. I get why they signed him, they were hoping he would be Dorsett 2.0. Trouble is, he isn't good enough to carry Derek's jock strap. His incessant lack of discipline kills us every time. If Greener loves him so much he can go with him, the khl needs plugs like these

Through 2 periods we outplayed and out chanced the Oilers. So Green goes back to old lines. Makes sense

You just know that this team will go on a run in the last 10 games, crawling out of a lottery position ala 2018

Where's the option to hire Tortorella and "break up the country club mentality"?

Professional athletes are nothing more than high priced horse flesh to these organizations. Remember that the next time you feel like complaining when they exercise their contractual rights.

Can’t fault the effort, even Virtanen looks like he’s trying

California has high taxes too don’t even go there
It would seem you are right, not to mention the myriad of other tax agreements between the 2 countries etc.

Different strokes I guess. I am done supporting Jim even though I have been giving him the benefit of the doubt for a long time now. Most media types (yeah, say what you want) and fans are befuddled by a lot of his moves and it’s become non defendable at this point. His drafting has been good but how much of that was influenced by Judd Brackett? There is no denying he is bad at negotiating contracts and god forbid he has to go into this off season with Petey and Hughes up for new, monster deals. I just can’t picture this team taking large steps without new direction.
JB has a lot of blood on his hands but one thing people always neglect to consider when it comes to FA signings- BC has one of the most punitive tax rates for NHL level salaries- you have to pay extra to get them to come

offensive / offensive thread = agree
D-zone = improved, but still below average
He’s got his shot back for sure. Brutal defensively, but his line mates share some of that blame

Impossible to say without being in the room if the problem is the planning or the execution. I’m not loving Greens comments about our team not being good enough to chase games though, that sends a terrible message to the guys.

That’s a penalty? Wow, stat padding engaged

Is there anymore room on the fire Green bandwagon?
