  1. Prediction:

The Canucks bring it and win a hard battle 2-1.

People on CDC ask post-game "If they could bring it this hard against Chicago, why didn't they do the same against lesser teams like Edmonton???"

    Canucks mentality questioned.

People respond with "People complain when we lose, people complain when we win. What do you want from them???"

People suggest making a trade for the hottest player on the Blackhawks tonight in exchange for Edler and Hansen.

  2. Can you name any forward on the Canucks who has ever done so? Name one!

Bure went from a 23 goal season (missed 19 games, on pace for 30 goals) and bounced back with a 51 goal season in 97-98.

Now, Bure was always the exception and not the rule and I don't believe this is any significant reason why the Sedins will do the same. In fact, their career trajectory matches more the Markus Naslund model, almost exactly. But you were looking for one example.

  3. Yikes Kesler is PO'ed in post game:

    "Stupid plays at stupid times."

"They (Oilers) cheat. They cheat all over the ice. We can't turn pucks over at their blueline"

"We need more from everybody. It's starts with the leadership group. We need everyone to play their A game"

He's pissed off after a lot of games. Then the next game, he disappears.

  4. Agreed. Burrows has to go, Sedins have to go, Daniel had no shots through like 2 periods :picard: . Luongo has to go, too weak in goal now, Lack is better. So many changes have to be made.

Sky is falling much? I agree that some shake-up is needed, but come on, Lu just had two sub-par performances. The rest of the season he has easily been our MVP and was playing some of the best hockey in years prior to these two games.

  5. Ahaha it's funny how all of you are acting like it's the end of the world from losing to the Oilers, it's not like they haven't beat us before. There's still 28 games left FFS

The people who are upset aren't upset just because of this one game. It's the culmination of the last stretch of games, how we lost, how we look lately, and how the prospects of the rest of the season look based on what we've gotten this year. The way this team is going lately, this one should've been one the Canucks come out salivating for the 2 points. But they obviously weren't. So yeah, it's just one game. But the problem is the Canucks seem to play like it's "just one game" too. Where's the urgency? Where's the desire to prove to fans and management that this is the team? Where is that "don't break up our core" mentality from before? It's almost as if they're conceding a change needs to be made too through their play.
