  1. Let's see how specific I can get with predictions.

    2-1 Canucks.

Yandle opens the scoring at 5:27 of the first.

Weise answers the bell at 14:11.

Go for a beer or someting in the second. Nothing happens.

Daniel wrists a howitzer (on the powerplay, no less!) at 6:12 of the third.

With the goalie pulled, no wild scramble. Phoenix has trouble maintaining possession in the Cancks zone.

  2. That was a great defensive play by Booth there to take out the Coyote player in the slot with the puck ( was santo's man ) That would have been a shot from the slot uncontested yet somehow those little plays that Booth does goes unnoticed by the fan base and by Torts

Torts said Booth was the best player for the Canucks last night.

He is rewarded with ice time tonight.

Unnoticed? He is given credit when credit is due. It just hasn't been due a whole lot this season.

  3. Why isn't lain playing tonight?

Torts is likely giving last night's roster a chance at redemption.

No Canucks skating this morning, no Canucks available to media pre-game.

The team is being protected from the barrage of "What happened last night??" questioning from the media.

Obviously they want to quickly forget Anaheim and they're starting over like it never happened.

  4. I'm glad they're going with the same line-up from last night.

Gives all the guys a chance at redemption. Imagine being the player who had to sit out in lieu of Kellan Lain. You're sitting with the memory of your last game being a 9-1 drubbing. You collapsed as a team last night, let's recover as a team.

    2-0 Canucks tonight.

  5. scored 1 goal when trailing by 2 goals, 3 goals when the game is tied, and 4 goals when up by 1 goal

    - shows Kass isn't scoring when the game is out of hand and actually contributes during key moments/situations of the game.

The thing I noticed is that whenever Kassian scores, it's a jump out of your seat moment. I couldn't tell if it's the excitement of seeing him produce or if it's because he scored in the context of a key moment in the game. Or both. Seeing this stat helps to realize that he rarely scores a meaningless goal. :) Thanks OP!

Here's hoping the Kass/Kes magic continues to develop and excel. A strong player who shows he can dish out a hell of a pass playing alongside Kesler? Yes please.
