at the rate teams are playing we have to go 12-0
-
Pearson Miller Boeser
Hoglander Horvat Garland
Podkolzin Pettersson ____
Pearson shouldnt be in that line up as a 1LW- he is as he has worked better then with Horvat imo
Need a legit 1LW who can shoot ! need a 40G scorer on this team
Hughes ___
OEL - Myers
Rathbone Schenn
---
We need a top pairing RD
Ideally replace our overpaid second pairing
-
I am excited, but im just worried to be let down again.
These poor 1st period starts have made me lower my expectations this season.
Demko was stealing games prior and we can't rely on that 82 games a season.
-
We need depth scoring , better defence, and a good back up.
-
We need a solid offseason, Petey and Hoglander need to show their skill ! Hoglander was so hyped with his dekeing and lacrosse goals
Podkolzin needs to be our X factor and not be afraid to lay someone out if their path collides

I heard that they set it up so that Podkolzin will be able to join the team when the Canucks wrap up their season.
Are they allowed / able to send him down now- may aswell get him used to the team and make him feel comfortable and get top 6 minutes
-
We need a dynamic 1LW
Horvat Boeser Petey Miller are all great to have up front - but they arent consistent for some times. Miller and Horvat have scored the majority of the goals.
Podkolzin and Hoglander should continue to grow.
Pearson can hopefully sustain his production.
--
Other then Hughes our defence sucks.
OEL is good but overpaid, Myers has his blunders- the duo is overpaid.
--
Demko should be elite and hopefully a Vezina level goalie for us, our back up next year needs to be able to play atleast 25 games and win more then .550
-
Dickinson, Poolman have been mistakes sorry
-
I was hoping we'd send a 5th back and get a 2nd rounder .
4th is not enough

Only a few players i would trade Demko for
McDavid
Draistatl
MacKinnon
Huberdeau
otherwise we are keeping Demko for aslong as we ever can

Move Myers, PK @ 4.5 M x 3 years

For fun:
Based on the last 20 games winning percentage
Calgary (.775)
Dallas (.675)
Oilers and Kings (.650)
Canucks (.625)
Vegas (.525)
Nashville (.500)
Ducks (.450)
-
I know things change, but based on the last 20 games Vegas and Nashville continue to trend down.
Dallas is moving up and and to be honest I don't see them falling out of the WC 1 spot or the playoffs all together.
-
Assuming Vegas and Nashville continue to tank, Ducks are falling off hard as well
---
We could sneak into the WC 2 position.
Based on the Last 10 and 30 Games, Canucks have one of the best Pts percentage in the Pacific if not west.

It will be close... may unfortunately come down to the wire and potentially we don't know if we are sellers until a week prior to the deadline

2023-2024
____ Miller (8M) - Boeser (7.5M)
Hoglander (4M) - Petey (7.4) - Garland (5M)
Pearson (3.3) - Horvat (6.5) - Podkolzin (925K)
Assuming Klimovich, Karlsson slot in at a point.... Also hope we get a true 1LW in a draft or trade come time. Pearson should be gone. Im not going to include Dickinson as I dont see him as a part of our team in 2 years.
That is 42.7 M in 8 players above
Add 26.11 M for OEL, Hughes, Myers (who I hope is gone in 2 years time), and Demko
68.81 Million in 12 players listed above
---
We need a LW, 4th line, 3 more dmen, and a back up....
4TH line (3M), Back up (1.5M)
--
73.3 Million- we still need 3 more dmen, and a LW as per my calculations
Salary cap is 81.5M , meaning we got 8.2 Million for 3 dmen , who we hope 1 is a top end RD, a LW who can play w/ Miller and Boeser, and a bottom pairing dmen (3M)
5.2 Million left for a #1RD, and a #1 LW
---
HOPEFULLY we can get some beauty ELC in the next 2 years.

8M x 6 years? last 2 years have no clause
Trade Boeser at this point for a RHD?

-
Unless the return is great- keep em and re sign them.
They cost us now about 2.8M - get them resigned for 3.5M for next year
Lammikko - 1M x 2
Highmore - 1M x 2
Motte 1.5 x 2 or 1.75 x 3

&^@# it, Hoglander hat trick tonight
With a michagan too

I'll be at the game too! Behind the Duck's Bench

I predict a Canucks win today,
Hopefully Pettersson scores a couple against Binnington

Would you consider moving Demko and Boeser for Draisatil
- 2
-
My biggest question is Shea Theodore untouchable?
Myers has been great under Boudreau, but I would swap the two or figure a way to get a cheap 2nd pairing RD while moving Myers and get Theodore
-
I don't cheer for other teams, but I cheer for other players
I wanted Ovi to win a cup, Stamkos to finally get one.
As much as I dont like the Oilers , especially at the expense of us losing: I would like McDavid/ Draisatl to win a cup
I dont cheer for the Leafs/ Bruins
-
Boeser should get near $7.5 to 8.
We have 10M in cap space
---
Pearson Dickinson Motte Chiasson Poolmon and anyone on a minimal deal should be traded even if its for a late pick.
Trade anyone of the above and get Kane retained from the Sharks...
he could be a cheap salary to play mid 6 role
--
Miller and Horvat Hoglander are the real payments due the next year.
I hope we can get all 3 under 20M- hopefully cap goes up somewhat by then
-
Can we get Judd Brackett back?
-
Kane retained for Pearson and Chiasson would be amazing.
Poolman has been better so I guess hes off the block.
Add a 4th rounder or such to get er done
-
Pearson, Poolman and a 4th for Evander Kane (50% retained)
---
Pool man hasnt been the guy we needed, Peason would do ok in the bottom 6 there
-
Pearson, Poolman and a 4th round pick for Kane (50% retained)
DeAngelo got waived and is playing great- should have tried getting him

Now I know we just won 1 game and I know it doesn't mean a whole lot just yet.
Bruce Boudreau mentioned winning 2 of 3 games a week as a positive sign to making it into the playoffs....
In recent history the minimum amount of points needed have ranged from 87 to 97 points, with an average of 92.6 points or a 0.565 point percentage.
----
Currently we have 20 points over 26 games, meaning we need ideally 73 points over the last 56 games. Equivalent to a .652 point percentage or for example 35 - 18 - 3 record
Almost a 2 wins for 1 loss as Bruce mentioned... now is it possible. Ideally we should aim for the higher end, trying to win divisional games as they are 4 point nights and against the Central division incase of a wild card race.
St. Louis Blue's did a complete turn around to make the playoffs and win the cup. Now I'm not saying we win the cup, but are playoffs feasible?
What are your predictions for point percentage for the last 56 games this season.
Currently 9 teams of the 32 have played .652 point percentage hockey over the first 22-26 games. Can we pull it off? Or is to game over?
Personally, as much as I hope and pray unless we improve our PK and PP drastically we miss the playoffs...
