  1. Id give him a 8 x 8M deal - good value for both - contract looks amazing in 2 years time Some say hes worth less. But hes their star forward atm and should be near 7m. He probably feels he's worth 9 plus
  2. Any one have experience buying from svp sports- huge online sale - but are they legit

  3. Blue Jackets are looking to bounce back after a miserable season and looking at their forward depth- they lack a 2nd line imo. Other then Jenner, Laine, Gaudreau- the offensive skill drops off. Hoping for better seasons from their young talent they could use a semi veteran presence like Boeser/ Garland Trade Option 1: Blue Jackets recieve: Boeser or Garland Canucks recieve: Andrew Peeke --- Trade Option 2: Blue Jackets receive: Boeser or Garland, Rathbone, 2025 2nd rd pick. Canucks Receive: Boqvist Boqvist is an upcoming dman, not the same size as peeke but shows some promise as a younger dman. Thus the additional draft asset and prospect Rathbone -- we dump some cap- get better on the back end with more options
  4. Money can buy everything except a cup.. Petey may leave if we don't show him we have a chance- same with any superstar. May it McDavid/ Matthews. Only reasons Sedins stuck around is because they were committed to us and it eventually bit us in the ass. Same way Crosby and Malkin are commited to the pens etc.
  5. I love the addtition of Hronek Gives us an actual top 3 or top 4 dman Problem is that we shouldnt be pairing him with Hughes, its best for us that their talent is spread out. Hughes. ______ ______ Hronek ______ Myers Ideally we can move Myers and save 6m for a bottom pairing dman
  6. Wouldnt hurt if he accepts a 2 way contract- keep him for the AHL see how he grows
  7. Beauvillier Petey Kuzmenko Mikheyev Miller Boeser Hoglander Suter Garland PDK/ Joshua Blueger Podkolzin We have one too many wingers- how are we supposed to let Podkolzin or Hoglander grow when they are stuck in the bottom 6 pending an injury. If we utilize them we save cap too.
  8. Interview by Jt Miller on a podcast

  9. I like this deal for the Ducks- feel it will be a good deal in the next 2 years when hes a 80 point guy consistently. Zegras probably gets under 9M
  10. Would you rather have had Bergeron or Datsyuk on your team (2 of the best defensive forwards I've seen in my life time)?

Datsyuk. Bergeron had a great career, but Datsyuk was at yet another level higher of player.

    3. Devron

      Devron

Datsyuk. He’s basically Bergeron but he’d be on the highlight reel a couple times a month

    4. Nave

      Nave

Datsyuk. They are close in defensive acumen, but Datsyuk was one of the most skilled players, period.

  11. Predators had a 2.7 Goals for last season and have lost Scorers in Duchene and Johansen in the off season. They lack the offensive edge going into the season and will have to rely on Defence and Goaltending. Current top end talent other then Forsberg is ROR/ Nyquist/ Rookie Tomasino They have 7.9M in capspace - Canucks send one of the following in Garland/ Boeser/ Beavullier to the predators in exchange for 2024 2nd pick (the best of their 3) and potentially a 2024 4th rd pick This is done for capspace relief for the Canucks and gives the Preds a chance to be a wildcard team - yes I know we may be competing for their same spot
  12. Current NHL Line up for the Canucks when healthy includes too many wingers and a 3C of Blueger, that makes me wonder is he our guy. The Canucks have no Centre for their 2nd PP unit with Petey and Miller on our first unit. Blueger would be great for our PK but brings no offensive edge for the team. With Petey or Miller injured we are left vulnerable too on our Centre Depth- yes we Aman as our 4C , Dries or Studnicka Proposal - assuming we can move cap in 2 of the following in Myers, Garland, Pearson, Boeser, Beauvillier - Canucks sign Jonathan Toews for the purpose of being our 3C- running our 2nd unit PP and giving us veteran depth down the middle - great mentor to Hoglander Podkolzin if given 3rd line minutes with him. Toews had 31 points in 53 games with an average ice time over 17 minutes - At a reduced role over a 80 game schedule he can possibly have 30 plus points as our 3C, give us a huge boost in our faceoff percentage and also be a factor in our PK I do understand he is an aging body but still a great asset Proposal 1 year x 1.8 M or 2 years at 3.4M ---- Canucks line up with Toews Mikheyev Petey Kuzmenko Beauvillier Miller Boeser Hoglander Toews Garland Podkzolin Blueger Joshua Extras: PDG, Aman, Dries, Studnicka, Pearson - At the end of the day cap is our biggest issue and I understand this makes Blueger an overpaid 4C
  13. Toronto should move Nylander for Pesce- nylander will cost too much and pesce makes that D not laughable
  14. Canucks get: Pesce Canes get: Karlsson @ 50% retention Sharks get: Boeser or Garland Carolinas 2024 2nd rd pick - becomes their 1st rd pick if Carolina makes it to conference finals Canucks 2024 3rd pick (if Pesce resigns) Rathbone Myers
  15. Rumors of Pesce being on the market and Carolina needing forward help....

Canucks trade Boeser + Rathbone, 2025 3rd pick (if he resigns post 1 year contract).

Carolina gets a 60 pt guy in Boeser who has term (they have only have a few F with term)

We get a top 4dman who can play with Hughes , upgrade on Soucy/ Cole

Wouldn't they trade Pesce to SJ if it's rumored that they want EK65?  SJ could flip him for a major haul.

    3. DownUndaCanuck

      DownUndaCanuck

      Boeser + Rathbone + 1st.

That's what it would take. Would certainly hurt losing a first but it's a gamble we make to say that we'll push that pick into the late round. I'd do it, go all-in.

      Hughes - Pesce

      Cole - Hronek

      Soucy - Myers

      Hirose

That is a top-5 NHL defence if not the best in the league. 2 good puck movers and a bunch of good shutdown guys. Playoff contending defence similar to the last 4 conference finalists if not better.

      AngryElf

The only forward they'd want in a Pesce deal is Kuzmenko... so no.

  16. CBJ needs a #1c and Peeke seems to be the odd man out potentially.

    Would this be fair:

    CBJ 3OA and Peeke

    for

    Miller and 11th OA.

Canucks have an extra 6 M this way to draft Carlson and potentially sign Barbashev as 2C.

Miller is a ppg centre over the last 3 years. Do we get enough back?

Does this send a bad image to Petey about our direction.

We still have too many wingers at the end and can target the Hurricanes as they have barely have any forwards signed long term.

    1. c00kies

      c00kies

Value aside, I don't think Columbus would go for this.

I also think the 3rd overall and Peeke cost more than you think.

I would do this deal though.

    2. Devron

      Devron

      Miller is not getting traded

  17. Nikola Jokic gives me Elias Pettersson vibes in his media interview.

May Petey reach the same success

  18. I agree with the concept of age 65-70 you have to retest- lots of seniors tbh that need some work on their skills Extra revenue generated from this should be used to reduce everyones premium
  19. Flames need a forward, with rumors of Hanifin being moved.

Garland or Beauvillier for Hanafin or Zadorov. May need to add for Hanafin

Assuming you can move Myers contract aswell

It’s very unlikely, divisional rivals would make a trade. Not impossible, but not likely.

I'd only throw then an anchor in terms of helping the Flames.  And I do mean that literally.

  20. Miller, 11th oa, Rathbone for

    3OA , Peeke?

They get a 1C and  we get a young 2C (save a few mill) and D help.

Risky but I'd do it. Not to mention, 6M in cap space. Throw that money at Monahan/Compher + Kampf and we're ready to roll. Carlsson surely slots in somewhere (maybe on the wing).

      Monahan/Compher - 50pts

      Kampf - 20pts

      Carlsson - 30pts

      Peeke - 20pts

Miller - 80pts if he's still got it

      11OA (ASP at best) - 20pts

    3. Ghostsof1915

      Ghostsof1915

What is the freak out about Miller? In the past 4 years he's averaged 74.75 points per season.

And he's around or better than a point a game for 3 of the last 4 years.

Not every player is going to fall off a cliff like Eriksson.

He's more durable, more effective and cheaper than say Mark Stone. (And a year younger)
