  1. 2-0 for Timra! Dahlen was on the ice, and guess what he scored it :D
  2. Goal! Should now be at 8GP - 7G - 5A - 12P
  3. And Olli picks up a goal!
  4. I feel this way too, I'm a little worried with Juolevi. Maybe he was taken much earlier than he should have been and he ends up taking his time. We honestly don't even know why he is being scratched, or what part of his play/ lifestyle needs changing. He was rocking it pre-WJC, he rocked it at the WJC. He has hit an obstacle. I'd be interested in finding out what it is. One thought that might illustrate this is the following: There could be up to 3 defensemen in the top 15 of this upcoming draft that will, imo, take a while to get to the NHL in Boqvist, Hughes and Merkley. We don't know what the initial plan and projection was going to be for him. We can all say that his past training camp was not what we had hoped from a top prospect. This upcoming camp though will be important, but not of the highest significance. If he goes to Utica as the first call up, kind of like Thomas Chabot right now, then there's nothing to really complain about. Especially seeing as we have 4 LHD in the line-up, and all except Pouliot have a contract for next season. Something will have to be addressed here, but it is so much easier to let Juolevi marinate, and I suspect that is what is going to happen. This could also be a good thing if Dahlen/ Pettersson/ Lind/ Gadjovich come over to Utica, get them some time to play with Demko/ Brisebois/ etc and develop some chemistry.
  5. So it looks like Olli has returned to the line-up.
  6. Both on the PP today as well. Is there a site out there that tracks how much of his points came on the PP/ ES? It would be interesting to take a look at.
  7. He is putting up points big time. Does anyone know how many more games he will likely play before the end of the regular season? Also, is he is eligible for the AHL next year?
  8. He plays a disciplined game. Only has 2 PIM. That's kinda impressive.
  9. I don't know about you, but I'm getting ready to shout "JOOOOONATHAN DAAAHLEN" every time he scores a goal. It just wouldn't be the same without the unique Swedish pronunciation. Damn, does anyone have that video with the Swedish commentator screaming his name?
  10. No worries! And now another goal, assisted by Juolevi!
  11. I'm seeing Palmu with a goal and an assist Either way, it's a good start to the game!
  12. I'm confused again. Did you not claim that he was shown video of Pronger and that he supposedly resented watching that video? I'm not assuming anything, I'm simple going by what you said before (knowing that Botch said this). I have no clue what Tryamkin was asked to do. Whatever it was, it wasn't communicated well enough, because otherwise Tryamkin wouldn't be complaining that he wasn't informed properly. The only other possibilities is that either coach or Tryamkin is lying. And I didn't say a word about my stance on Botchford. Literally zilch. I said he puts forth his opinion, and that I respect his right to an opinion. I read what he and the multitude of other bloggers write and form my own opinions. You can ignore my question. I'll give up. But you did dodge it a couple of times now. I only asked you to clarify on what you meant to say. I'm interested in your opinion.
  13. You never responded to my initial question. But I'll continue. He is Russian, he has a code of honor, what if he doesn't want to play that way? Coming out every game only to get your hits and fights in? Being shown videos of Pronger being aggressive doesn't exactly piss a hockey player off, there's no reason for him to resent being shown video. But If you watched him play in the KHL and then the NHL, you'd notice that he has played much more aggressively, so he did take the information in. But if it's not the style he wants to play, then why force the guy? He has other talents. Tryamkin is not Pronger, so why make him play like Pronger? Why not ask Hutton to play like Pronger? Or Stecher? And I want further elaboration on the first sentence. He wants to be told what to do to get a bigger role? Are you saying he was given an ultimatum, do this or else suffer the low time? What kind of coach would do that. He wanted to be given clear goals, goals that suit his game, not Prongers. Is proper communication such a hard and difficult thing to ask for? Say what you want about Botchford, but he has access to information that many other people don't have. Sometimes the odd article will have something great in it, and that alone is worth the read. Botchford is a fan of the team, he gives his take on his own opinion. It's hardly truth. Often times he notices things that others don't. He opens discussion. He is just like every other blogger of the team. They all have their opinions. They all open discussion, and I think they're all worth listening to. Like... read many media outlets and then make your own decision/opinion on things.
  14. I don't get this statement? He played out his last contract faithfully. Why wouldn't he play out the next one? In fact I think he even mentioned in his last interview that he wants to honor any contract he signs. I really don't think it's about the money, he wants a guarantee that he will be treated fairly and told honestly what he has to do to get a bigger role.
  15. That's Olli's third assist tonight, 14GP, 5G, 7A, 12P Keep it up man! This is getting exciting. The game is quite good.
  16. I didn't notice that Heiskanen has quitely gone under PPG. Heiskanen 14GP, 7G, 4A, 11P IFK Helsinki at 6th place Juolevi 14GP, 5G, 6A, 11P TPS Turku at 3rd place Juolevi is doing well. Even if he is a year older.
  17. As much as I want to believe that, I remember a completely different narrative. If one of Makar or Heiskanen were going to fall, then we would've taken them. Honestly, Heiskanen is beasting it up as well. The "No way he falls to us" thing was done for Boeser and Lind. Speaking of which, I wonder if this means that Elias will get a shot at the olympics this year. I mean, his production is undeniable.
  18. It would be interesting to have Dahlen, Gaudette, Pettersson, Juolevi all on the same team in Utica next year. If we draft someone like Adam Boqvist this year, then add him to that list. It would give them time to develop and gain chemistry and we'd finally have a decent group of guys on the farm team. It sure would (properly) help with depth. I actually wonder if our current roster makeup might keep most of these guys out of the team next year. It'll be hard to push in Juolevi with 3 LHD's signed (Edler, MDZ and Hutton), 1 RFA (Pouliot) and decent competition (McEneny and Holm) who seem to be NHL ready. The same goes for the other guys, as we have Rodin, Goldobin and Boucher pushing for a spot and Eriksson, Baertschi, Boeser, Gagner, Dorsett, Gaunce, Virtanen all signed through next year. If Dank doesn't retire, then we are going to have a nice log jam if they're all NHL ready. Camp sure will be interesting. Obviously a trade should be imminent. But if for some reason they all do end up in the AHL, a powerplay line of Dahlen - Pettersson - Gaudette - Juolevi - xxx would be pretty cool, you know with them all being decent powerplay guys and all. Speaking of which, Elias has a game today.
  19. Was it Pronman who posted that? He follows up by saying that Heiskanen and Tolvanen have been included in the mens team.
  20. I've seen a couple of posts claiming Dahlen will be signing with Brynas. Not official yet but looks like Dahlen will get a promotion soon.
  21. This. He honored the term of his contract. Full stop. He didn't complain to the media while he was here. He came to a new situation, tried it out and figured it wasn't something he wanted. Blaming his wife for the decision to go back to Russia is wrong. I've had relatives immigrate to different countries, where they didn't speak the language and had no friends. These people are fine, sure, they can live, they get treated pretty well, but the loneliness eats at you and you are always in a grumpy mood. It's definitely no way to start a marriage. You also need to take into account that the culture in Russia is different. Let him make his mistakes, learn from them and decide what he wants to do.
  22. So I read the interview in Russian and I have to say... holy smokes that is a bad translation. Some of those phrases portray him as this terrible guy. A large portion of him praising the Canucks got cut out into unintelligible phrases. Still though, he comes across as a little indifferent in the article. But maybe that's just me. He's a cool guy though :D And it seems that Willie is at fault after reading this.
  23. I love DiPietro and his game this year. But I'm more worried that he doesn't fit the typical style of our goalie coaches. Might not be a fit for the organization even if he is a great prospect.
  24. I personally think there are too many red flags with Timmins. I really hope we don't grab him. Speaking of which. What if we grab Jesper Boqvist? That would complete Timra's top line of Dahlin - Petersson - Boqvist.
