  1. "Avtomobilist" releases Nikita Tryamkin for North America. March 6, 2016 Nikita Tryamkin's contract ends April 30, 2016, but the defender turned to the club with a request to release him early in order to go to North America. Recall that Nikita was drafted by "Vancouver " . "Avtomobilist" decided to grant his request, which is why he will continue this season in Canada. Note that the rights to play in the KHL remain with the club. We wish Nikita the best of luck! Avtomobilist translates to Motorist. Most Russian team names translate to something. Ak Bars has the a pretty cool team name (Bars = Panther) :D
  2. If you look at this interview, then it says that he is playing through an arm injury and is taking injections. Rough translation: He is playing through a serious (arm) injury, and is taking injections. Thanks for finding the interview! So I'm guessing, if he finishes at the soonest possible date (28th Feb), where Avto gets sweeped by Metallurg, then he would need time to recover. Playing through with medication sounds serious though. I'd be happy if he decides to come over to play with Utica in the playoffs (so sometime in April?). Might not be enough for the NHL for this season.
  3. So basically Avtomobilist vs Metallurg. He may be done by the 28th.
  4. Well I guess having another Russian to talk to my motivate him some.
  5. Avtomobilist may still make the playoffs. If they do, I'm assuming that Nikita stays. I think playing for his home team in the best league in Europe is much more important to a Russian hockey player than what is going to be more likely a stint with Utica, who aren't a lock to go to their playoffs either. That said, if they make the playoffs they won't last past the first round. The playoffs start end of February and last till the start of April. He is most likely to be available start of March. So if I were to expect him to come over it might happen sometime mid or end of March. I still think an established KHL player will refuse to play for Utica. The KHL is a better league than the AHL and the difference in salary may be a kick in the nuts for him. It certainly won't be a warm welcome for him to come over and be told he isn't good enough to play with the team that has been trying to get him overseas.
  6. I want to see Hansen on Bo's side. It worked so well last year and now that the left side is improved they can really do some damage.
  7. All a matter of perspective
  8. Haha yeah, I guess it's just bug or beetle. Datzhuk --> That bug?
  9. Something funny I just found out recently. Russian's usually have a noun in their surnames, something like Kozlov (Goat), Sorokin (Magpie),etc.... Dmitrij Zhukenov has the word Zhuk in his name. дмитрий жукенов is his name spelt in Russian. Try put in жук in google Datzhuk is a little funny when you know what Zhuk means
  10. Has anyone got a comparison of Nick Ritchie to his brother Brett? Are they similar in play/talent?
