Going to the Vancouver Canadians game today. Who should I pay attention to?
Can't say I know the farm system too well but LHP Ricky Tiedemann looks intriguing-, 4-1 record with a 1.41 ERA and 68 SO in 44.2 IP from a 6'4 nineteen year old in High A. Third rounder from last year.
Leo Jimenez is on the 40-man roster while in High A. I'd be curious to see what he looks like.

The name Jett IMO attracted attention. I don't know any one called Jett. It stood out to be but would a kid named Jeff stand out, nope
You think a unique name was the difference between him going relatively high in the draft rather than not drafted at all? That’s a hot take if I’ve ever seen one.

Hated Hyman as a Leaf. But he seems like a good guy, and is a hell of an all around hockey player.
He’s written a series of children’s books too. It’s hard to hate the guy.

No kidding
I saw the story kicking around a couple other places as well. Considering it's being reported by the NYP and just the lunacy of the story itself, I have a hard time believing it.

Covid finally caught me after not being sick for the last 2 years. This mild version is going around for sure
sore throat, headache, and a dry cough kinda hurting my chest.
could be worse i suppose if i didnt have a couple vaccine shots in me. At least i have a bunch of accumulated sick leave to pull from.
Same here. Holed up in a 1BR apartment with my girlfriend (also sick) and a dog recovering from surgery. Neither of them will stop farting.

The small contingent of Flames fans I call friends will be insufferable through whatever run the Flames go on this year. I’m hoping it doesn’t last long.

think we're seeing the effect of Bo working with Tulo this offseason. We see a lot more of him flipping the ball while on the move, rather than planting and gunning it across the diamond. That was something TT did better than anyone. (with the possible exception of Tony Fernandez)
I’m not sure I ever saw Tulo throw a ball with his feet set. You’d have to think Tulo would be just about the best guy for Bo to learn from, right? He was always big and slow for a SS but played the position at an elite level for a long time. That’s got to speak to his knowledge and smarts for it.
Seeing Tulo play SS for the Jays right after Jose Reyes was an interesting contrast actually. They were pretty opposite in how they played it, with Reyes relying more on his quickness and athleticism. Once his feet slowed down we saw throwing errors become a bigger issue for him.
I really liked the Tulo acquisition at the time (I was always a fan of his) and still do, even if the bat never materialized with Toronto. I didn’t imagine we’d be seeing it pay dividends still in 2022, however, but I’m happy to see it.

Let’s see the bully face!
I’ve long thought of Bo as a name for my next male dog. A good dog name and a nod to our current Canucks captain.

I'm not sure if we can sign and play him after TDL.

I could be wrong but I think he can play because he was on the Canucks reserve list at the TDL.

Seems like yesterday the Rangers announced they were going for a full rebuild.
And our guys couldn't decide what they were doing.
Now they're where they are and we're where we are.
Panarin and Fox are two big reasons the Rangers are where they are.
We were never gonna land free agents like that.

former Jay Aledmys Dias is next on the depth chart.....
For a short while. They’ve got Jeremy Peña waiting in the wings. I think they viewed this situation similar to the Nats letting Harper walk knowing they had Soto to replace him.

It's still a 75 point pace. 75 points in 82 games is pretty damn good if you ask me.
It’s pretty good, sure but with less than 20 goals and a good chunk of points being secondary assists and/or power play points it’s not what I’d like to be paying $8.25m for.

Do they need to though? If I were the Jets, I'd be happy with how Wheeler is contributing. In fact, the guy that was talked about being moved was Scheifele.
You ignored the first part of my post.

You think Winnipeg has an issue with a Wheeler putting up close to an 80pt pace? He's not the issue. Scheifele is the one their fans are annoyed with. Same with Hellebuycks inconsistent play this year. Not to mention their defensive issues.
It’s more like a 75 point pace, with less than 20 goals and a good chunk of the assists being of the secondary variety. A career high %, in fact.
If the Jets were to explore a Blake Wheeler trade, do you think they’d have to retain, add a sweetener, or take a similar contract back? I do.

45 points in 48 games is an issue?
He’s declined statistically and in terms of durability. Unlikely to eclipse 20 goals this year. You think Winnipeg loves that contract?

A 30 year old Max Lapierre or Cal Clutterbuck doesn't equate to a 30 year old Blake Wheeler.
The same Blake Wheeler who signed a 5 year contract with a $8.25 M cap hit at 32 years old after coming off his career peak and has steadily declined since?
