  1. I'd say yes. He's a more refined player then Subban. Stecher is bigger then Subban and a better defensive player. However, not as dynamic as Subban offensively.
  2. It's a hard question. His draft year is 2012, if scouts knew how good he'd be in that draft now I'd suspect he'd probably go in the middle 2nd round. He's the same age as Hutton was when he got signed. Basically put up the same numbers, although on a much better team. It's difficult to say.
  3. I mean he could have made the NHL probably. But that doesn't mean a extra year would hurt him. Like what Ray Ferraro said "When has an extra year in the minors ever hurt a prospect", I'm hoping he comes to UND and has a season like Gaudreau did in his draft +3
  4. Brock was not ready for a top 6 role. UND's development program is one of the best in NA. Boeser will develop in a winning environment. After next year he can jump in and play top 6 minutes. Freaking out over this is a waste of energy. This was probably the best move for his development.
  5. Players bust. It happens. Doesn't stop them from being bad prospects. Cody Hodgson was a good pick, so was Jordan Schroeder, Daigle was a amazing prospect that just lacked motivation. Both were really good picks and showed tremendous upside. It is the responsibility of the people that draft to pick the best prospect. It isn't to predict the weird ways that they can randomly bust. Cody had short legs and had back surgery, Schroeder had a bunch of injuries, Daigle lacked motivation but was insanely talented.
  6. Boeser and Demko are both really good prospects. It's not hard. Cassels btw was injured for 2 straight off-seasons and it wouldn't surprise me if he breaks out next year.
  7. Thank Judd Brackett as well. http://canucks.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=108577 He was a good person to promote.
  8. I hope so, I'm almost as excited for the 33rd overall pick as I am for the top 6 pick. Because I know I get to follow that 33rd overall pick all season. (Maybe Tyson Jost will drop to that pick and I have extra work to do watching UND ) Gotta give it to Benning he can draft. He would make for a great head scout. I honestly hope when management gets canned which eventually will happen we demote Benning and not fire him. Jim's a good hockey guy need more of him in our scouting department.
  9. I know it's selfish but I wouldn't mind seeing him 1 more year in UND. It keeps me busy. I like creating content.
  10. I've been working on the highlights but I ran into some unexpected problems. unfortunately my hard drive died on me (fell during an earthquake, I live in Alaska so we get them constantly). I am about halfway finished editing the clips together. Depending how much I can get done tonight I might be able to finish it and I'll release them tomorrow.
  11. Either this year or next year. Some of the stuff I've read (quotes and such) it sounds like Boeser is inclined to sign after the season ends. But that is just me speculating. Gallagher is correct in thinking the NCAA and particularly the NCHC is much better then the CHL. Much better to watch too. Especially the NCAA tournament, that was some great hockey. It reminded me of world junior hockey. The frozen 4 should be a treat.
  12. Stecher I can see us getting. Caggiula last I heard had 22 teams interested. Honestly, I see him going to Chicago. Just because they have an excellent development system and a competitive team AND a roster spot. That's a jack pot as far as teams to play for. With Johnson do you mean Luke Johnson?

    Brendan Gaunce | C/LW

If you are looking for snarl from gaunce then you should look elsewhere. Gaunce is a 2-way center. Not a powerforward. Even though management wants him to be a powerforward so badly.
  14. Boeser has a hard shot but it's not necessarily a bomb. His strengths are his quick release and accuracy. Boeser can get a shot off in a millisecond so the goaltender has a very short time to get set for the shot. Not only that it's also deadly accurate.
  15. The chances that Boeser turns out to be the 3rd best prospect in the 2015 draft are very slim. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
  16. Boeser's chance and his pretty assist https://streamable.com/aibx
  17. I'll gladly eat crow if he does well. I want him to do well. I am still salty about the fact I had to scrap a whole project because of this god damn random ass trade I'll eventually stop talking about it I promsies.
  18. 5 shot attempts in 4 games. Yeah, I'm not feeling this trade at all. Hope he manages to do something that impresses me.
  19. Virtanen had 6 shot attempts in this game. The guy is a advanced stats superrrrrr starrrrrrrrr
