How about playing a full 60 minutes - they always seem a little slow to get started and 2nd periods seem to be another issue. I know we're playing without our injured vets and our star Petey - but consistant effort would be a god send. We have the ability to take these 2games - the Habs are beatable. I don't know if it was the worst game of the season (so far) but it was right up there. I know we're gonna have games that don't go our way - but last night sure left a lot to be desired. Lack of effort, lack of movement, couldn't complete a clean pass, and the list goes on. Surprised by Greens presser - that's as close as I think he has come to calling the team out. I don't think I would have given the team a day off but that's me. We still need some key pieces - not sure if what we have in the system is going to complete this roster Maybe we can get something in return for some of our vets but I am of the opinion - if they aren't good enough for our roster chances are they aren't good enough elsewhere either. I actually thought last year we were streaming in the right direction - this year I think we have a lot more work to do. Yes we have some talent coming in (Pads etc) but we haven't seen them play at an NHL level. Onward we go

Of course it is the same blah blah blah - wth did you expect him to say. I was surprised he went as far as he did on LE. You can call him a moron and whatever choice names you have for him - but I would tend to agree with Burkie - when he said Jim is no dumbie - maybe not his exact words but it amounted to that. Jim needs a PR person badly - he does not come across well - too bad things didn't work out differently with Linden. And speaking of Linden - I have always suspected it was Trevor tht wanted LE signed to play with the Sedins for one last push. Nothing to really base it on except a comment from him to the effect that it wasn't fair to the Sedins to through them into a total rebuild. (and that is not a quote but I am sure you can find it if you want to get picky) No I am not a Benning homer but I think he has some good qualities and one of those is in scouting and drafting. I wish he had been hired in that capacity. We will see what this team looks like in the next couple years - I can handle another year of not competing for a cup run as long as the games are as entertaining as last nights against the Leafs.
